Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day closer

In another little town near here there is a restaurant that I've seen the sign for many times as we drove along the interstate.  It also says that there is a craft gift store there too.  Sunday afternoon I suggested we go to the store and look around for something to do.  We were pleasantly surprised to find it so much more than a craft store.
It was a little artisan village and in each of the buildings people do their art and craft there for visitors to watch and can buy their products.  There were only a few buildings that were open because it was Sunday, but we got to walk around the village, and peek in the windows.
A couple of shots of the village.

At the end of the village there is an old road that leads to an old bridge.  Front and back of the sign.

The bridge from below.
Standing on the bridge looking over the edge.
At this point standing on the old bridge you can see three bridges.  The first one we are standing.  Then the iron bridge and finally the bridge on interstate 68 just beyond that which you can barely see in the picture.  Three bridges from three different times.
Monday morning brought more rain so I delayed my morning walk until later in the morning.  I walked into town and around town and then met Ken at the library at 12:00.

This morning (Tuesday) I walked down the hill but instead of walking up the hill to town I turned right and went to the river.  Walked along some country roads and eventually walked one big 5.6 mile block, half of which was all up hill!  I got a good work out and walked less then usual!!  At one point I turned around here and took the picture.  It was a bit humid and hazy out.
I saw gold finches, red winged black birds, deer, lots of chipmunks, and a ground hog.  Road work was going on along one of the roads and they were the only people I saw.
I got back to the trailer in the nick of time because that's when the rain came.

The days are going by and each one brings us closer to moving into the house.  10 more nights in the trailer.

A happy day to you my friends.
happyone : )

Oh by the way, I was wrong about no wifi in the library.  They do have it and that is where I am right now posting this.  So we don't have to make the trip up to McDonald's anymore!! : )  Of course we are limited by the library hours.

My new word:
Blesson.
It's when you're able to view painful lessons as blessings.
A blesson is what happens when you see the blessing
in the lesson that your challenged with.

I love the history of your area. Also, that little craft village sounds so neat. So glad you found that you could use the WiFi in the library. I love the word for the day. I need to make that word part of my life because so many trials turn out to be true blessings.
Enjoy your small town 4th of July!

10 days will fly (and less now, right?)

That is one cool bridge. What design and craftmanship.
