Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Next up, the loft

A relatively warm morning - 39 degrees so I didn't have to wear all my layers.  I watched the sun come up, and then walked underneath a blue sky with a few white clouds.
I walked around the lake and kept to the lower path, but did walk along some short trails and also down by the water a few times.
One of the times I was down by the water all the geese left except for this one who wanted his picture taken. : )
A fair amount of people walking around the lake for a Monday morning.  Only odd thing about it was they were all walkers - no runners, which is highly unusual!!

It was a walk of 12,284 steps.
Sunrise 7:27
Sunset 5:01
It seems sunrise has been this same time for such a long time!!

There wasn't much to do with the desk down in the kitchen but I did put my cookbooks out and have my laptop there to look up recipes.  It's nice having a place to plan out meals and make shopping lists.
 ********************
I was getting ready to go out to the mall and Cheryl called asking if I'd like to meet her for lunch.  Yes, that sounded like a great idea.  It was just 10:00 and I had time to go to the mall and meet up with her for lunch at 12:00 at Mimi's Cafe.
Cheryl ran into another friend in the meantime and asked her to join us so the three of us had lunch.  Her name was Karen too and I liked her right away.  Someone else who likes to talk so we all got along great. : )

There is one more phase to do getting my project done and that is getting the loft back into some kind of order.  This will now be the only place where I keep my knitting stuff, needlework and other craft paraphernalia.  There is also a sewing machine up there which my mom gave me a couple of years ago and I have yet to teach myself how to use it.  That is another one of my goals this year!!
I have a keyboard that sits up there also without being used and I hope to get back playing that again too.
But first I have to get it all into some kind of order.
Here's some pictures of what it looks like up there now.

Those old boxes in the corner on the second picture I'm going to clean up and put a coat of polyethylene on them, stack them up which will turn them into shelves.
I'll be sure to take pictures of the progress I make.

I have a few things I have to get done yet today and then I hope to get a little reading done.

Hope your day is filled with sunshine.
Happyone : )
Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.
It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

You are really moving right along. Your lunch out with Cheryl and Karen sounds like so much fun. I need to call a friend and go out for lunch soon.

You have a lot going on in the loft. It must be a handy place to stash things. Do you also have a storage room somewhere? (I have the garage attic and the basement and they are both packed to the rafters. I really need to get going and toss a lot of it.)

Oh you'd love sewing. I think trying something simple like an apron (similar to the one I won from Karen) would be a great project.

So warm down there... It's 4:22 and not dark yet. On the shortest day of the year, it was already dark by now.

I like how you and Cheryl did that spur of the moment lunch. I need to get better about that. I tend to think I'll call someone for lunch after I do this or that and, consequently, it rarely happens. I need to change that.
I clicked on your pictures to get a better view. Your kitchen desk area is so cute. I love the little iron bookend.
Your loft is looking a bit like my bonus room, only mine is filled with stacks and stacks of photos. I'm hoping to get motivated to do something with them after I see the wonders you work in your loft.

What a nice craft and hobby space you will have up in the loft! I also play the piano/keyboard and have a lovely piano in my living room I haven't touched (except to dust) for a long, long time. Your mentino of your keyboard has inspired me to do get back there and make some music this year! I love your walk picture from this morning! Your lunch with an old and new friend sounds very nice too! Enjoy your evening and your day tomorrow!
