Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk and a new hymn

I walked  over to and around the lake this morning.  I had to be home no later than 8:00 so just walked around the lower path of the lake.  I went through the work area since it was early Sunday morning and knew the workers wouldn't be there.  Wanted to see what progress they had made.
I took these four pictures as I passed by.
A bit muddy through here.

They made a little drainage pond.

More mud and a torn up path from the heavy equipment.

Farther along where they are just about done.
It was 39 degrees, cloudy but no wind.  There were quite a lot of people out for an early Sunday morning.
I walked a little less than usual again this morning because of the time.
5.2 miles today.

We sang this song at church this morning.  I can't sing but love to sing anyway.  : )
This hymn is a new one for me.
Words and music by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend

Speak, O Lord

Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
To receive the food of Your Holy Word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,
That the light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory.

Teach us, Lord full obedience,
Holy reverence, true humility;
Test our thoughts and our attitudes,
In the radiance of Your purity.
 Cause our faith to rise;
cause our eyes to see Your majestic
love and authority.
Words of power that can never fail.
Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us.
Truths un-changed from the dawn of time.
That will echo down thro' eternity.
And by grace we'll stand on your promises.
And by faith we'll walk as You walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built
and the earth is filled with Your glory.
 ********************
I wish you a blessed Sunday.

Your walk this morning sounds brisk. I have been curious about the work that has been ongoing. Thanks for showing their progress. Is this a new song or an old hymn of the church? Either way, it's new to me.

Singing is such a joy especially with such meaningful words as your new hymn.
