Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home again

I walked around the lake this morning. It was a dreary, misty, dark morning but i had a great walk anyway. It was 60 degrees and the mist came and went throughout my whole walk.  I made it back home just in time before the rain came down hard.
I had the lake practically to myself.  I only saw a couple running together and two walkers!!
And this man here taking pictures.  I see him quite often but don't know his name.
There were a lot of geese on the water being very quiet and all of a sudden they started making a racket.  They must have still been sleeping and just woke up.  I think they must have been saying good morning to each other. : )

All along one part of the path by the lake are all these pretty tiny white daisy looking flowers.
Here is a close up of them.
A pretty red leaf.
After walking around the lake instead of taking the path i usually take i walked along the street instead just for a different way to go.
I walked 6.5 miles.

*******************************************
This makes two days in a row that i'm staying home.  I enjoy staying at home though.  I like going out but i really am a home body.  It's nice having the house to myself and just puttering around.  I never get bored.

I am having some trouble getting rid of these few extra pounds, in fact i've gained a couple more.  I guess i'm going to have to cut down more on what i'm eating.  You would think with all the walking and exercising i do it the pounds would have come off.  I will NOT go on a diet, but i will cut my portion sizes way down, and that includes my ice cream.  I'm hoping in a month to be back to where i was.

I'm off now to do some more puttering about the house.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Oh --that weight thing... Seems to get harder as we get older... I am 'dieting' --and trying SO hard to get this weight off of me... Maybe then, my legs and back will quit hurting... Ya think???? ha ha

Good Luck, Karen... I think you are just right the way you are ---and you do get plenty of exercise...
Hugs,
Betsy

I like that beautiful leaf you captured. All in all it sounds as if your drizzly morning walk was a big success.
You're not the only one who has to wonder about where those extra pounds sneak in from.

Your walk and the photos that you captured were so nice and serene..I could almost feel myself there.
I like to be at home too and almost never get bored either. But i am glad to have the company of my 3 dogs when hubby is away.

All the best,

I am shocked that you are having trouble getting any weight off. I like your spunk about not going on a diet, which reminds me, Giffords is closing Saturday and I really should get an ice cream. I count it as my dairy servings for the day.

Today was really dreary, wasn't it? I spent the day around the house except for a quick errand. I, too, enjoy puttering -- got some cooking done and some cleaning and laundry.

I look forward to reading your posts, your pictures are always so pretty and interesting. I too like being home all day. My problem is I spend too much time discovering a whole new world out on the internet. Went out to fetch the trash can on Tuesday and today, that's been the extent of my outings since this rain started.

Pretty, pretty Autumn photos.

Trying to lose weight... Sighhhhhh, it hangs over so many of our heads! Even you, a dedicated walker. So, what chance have the rest of us? ,-)

You wish to maintain a certain weight.

I wish to weigh less, because of my (kinda' new) hip pain. No need for me to get down to where-I-always-was, before this yo-yoing started. Just........ To a logical weight for me, at my age.

And I am NOT at this, now.

I'm 30 pounds less than I was, at one time. But that doesn't really matter, to my hips, which are still carrying around too much.

I can't imagine having the gall to complain to a doc, about my hip "ouchies," when we both know that I should be lighter-by-another-30-pounds. -grin- Common Sense, already!

Oooops... a thunder boomer!

Bye bye.
