I headed out to the lake. A lot more people around there later in the morning. There were LOTS of mothers with strollers. A group of them even stopped every so often and did some exercises.
I saw two of the people i see earlier when i walk. One was just running late but Barb was on her second walk of the day already. She has two dogs and takes each one on their own walk. She also does a loop of the lake on her own too!
The geese were happy out there on the lake.
I walked off the paved path and on this path in the woods.
It's not very long but i like it because i feel like i'm out hiking.
My walk is always a great time of the day for me but today it was even better than usual. Walking home along the path here, i stopped to sit on one of the benches on the left there up ahead.
I sat there, popped a cough drop in my mouth and
spent about 10 minutes or so watching the water flow by.
It was very quiet and so peaceful sitting there listening to the water and watching the leaves float down the stream as they fell gently from the trees into the water. There was a sycamore tree near by which have big leaves and all around me leaves were falling. One even fell on my head. Have you ever sat and just listened to leaves falling from trees hitting the leaves already on the ground? It is one of my favorite sounds. It was so quiet i could hear the sycamore leaves hit the water with a soft sound.
The bench was high enough that i could sit there and swing my legs. What a great little spot and time out of my day!! : )
Then it was time to move on and i walked the last mile or so back home and when i got there had another cup of tea.

Saturday night i was sound asleep, and hearing a strange voice right in our bedroom, woke up with quite a start. Ken laughed and said i actually came up off the bed like in a cartoon. What was this strange voice you might be wondering!? The smoke alarm telling us the battery is low. I didn't know it actually talked to you now. Ken was going to get up and change the battery but i told him to just wait until morning. I didn't realize that every hour and then every ten minutes we would hear her voice again. First thing in the morning every smoke alarm in the house got new batteries put in them!!

I am home here for the rest of the day. It's is my lunch time now and after that i will get a few more things done and then spend the rest of the day knitting or reading.
Hope your Monday is a good one for you.
A smile from me to you.

I so enjoy time alone out in the beauty of creation! It is a time of refreshing and we need to make more moments like those.
I laughed when I read about your "voice in the night!" I sure didn't know that the alarms talked to you now! That's a good reminder to check them throughout the house! Thank you and have a great day!
Too funny about the lady in your bedroom. She'd have probably gotten the boot if she'd been in mine.
That time you described watching the water flow was pure joy for me, too. I can read things like that all day.
Ohhhh, I like this walking-time choice better, than your usual crack-of-dawn time. :-) But I know, it's not my choice that's important, but yours.
I like the idea of it not being dark, and of more people around, etc. :-)
The 10 min. sit-and-listen sounds very delightful! Very. Very. Very. But with my lesser hearing, wonder if I could HEAR the leaf-falling sounds, or not? Glad you can.
A little thing, like realization of one's hearing abilities, while they are still with us, is a very lovely thing. Something not often thought of, I suppose. Until like me, they are no longer a part of one's life.

That is one of my all time favorite sounds too ..... the leaves falling :)
Oh my .... I had no idea there were smoke alarms that spoke to you!
Sounded like a perfect morning and day.

The sights on your morning walk are looking very autumnal. You had a great idea to stop for a few moments to also enjoy the sounds of autumn.
I had not heard of a talking smoke alarm either, but I guess that's one way to make sure the batteries get changed without procrastinating.
