Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Paddle boats back in the water

A mild 55 degrees this morning. It was cloudy, but I saw the sun peek out once in a while and there was even a very light rain shower. It only lasted a few minutes and as I write this the sun is shining. I walked over to the lake and took the shorter route that stays down by the water. The heron was standing on the rocks by the water and I watched it take off and fly across the lake. The fox was about too and I watched him hurry off into the woods.
This is what the sky looked like this morning.
Lots of people walking and there were about a dozen people fishing at the edge of the lake. Down in the water by the entrance the park rangers were putting the paddle boats back in the water for the season. I snapped this photo of them paddling them over to the pier. The man fishing in the left of the picture was smoking a cigar and as another woman passed by we wrinkled up our noses and said how awful it smelled. :-)
I left the lake behind and walked down the road and along one of the paths before heading back home. There were many people on that one path and I don't usually see many people there. It is one of those mornings when it's just so nice to be outside.
I walked 6.5 miles.
All that walking made me hungry. I'm having breakfast next.
Happyone :-)

Smoking while in beautiful Natural surroundings always seem so counterproductive to me! I ran 45 minutes in Rehab and then walked home - we're due for rain here in Denver.

I agree about the smoking thing, but what a beautiful lake you have to walk round....I'm very envious!

Maybe this will be the year for me to take out one of those paddle boats or canoes!
