Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A beautiful spring day

Yet another terrific morning for a walk around the lake. Cool and lots of sunshine. I love these spring mornings. I'm walking along the path here and it's about 6:50 AM and its just so beautiful. Hearing the birds, saying good morning to people passing by, seeing all the wildlife around, is just such a great way to start the day. I saw the heron again and got a couple more pictures and posted them on my picture blog this time. Here a cardinal sits on the sign just waiting for me to take his picture. As I walked up closer he flew away. Saw all the usual geese, ducks and deer and most days I see the egrets too.
My pedometer doesn't seem to be working properly. I know I walked at least 6 miles but it only said 5. It's probably the battery that needs to be replaced. I also am going to need a new pair of walking shoes one day soon. I usually buy two at a time and I like New Balance. Maybe this weekend I'll get some.

After a stop at the library last night after supper I have now have 5 more books to read. :-) Four of them are the next in the cat book series by Braun so they should go fast. They are fun little books to read.

This afternoon was warm enough to sit out on the deck again. I was out there for a while after I took the laundry off the line. I'm glad no one has complained about my laundry being out there. :-)
I made chicken tonight for supper. I put Old Bay Seasoning on fingers of chicken and then cooked them in the frying pan with Pam. I made Roasted Potatoes and green beans to go along with it.

No snack of ice cream at home this evening. We got in the car and headed out to Rita's for some Gelati. We both got Chocolate with Cherry Ice. Lots of people there and the parking lot was a mess. We saw a few near misses of car accidents.

After I'm done here it will be time for a little television and I'll knit. Tonight I'll knit on a ripple afghan.

Hope you had some happy times today.

HI Dear Karen,

Amazing picture... really looks like spring. I am so happy, it rained here last night and just the thing that we needed.

I am reading 'The Girl With a Pearl Earring'.

Lovely thought.

It doesn't seem long ago we saw pictures of your area covered in snow...and now spring has come. How lovely.

This post reminds me that I really need to give Rita' a try. We have one real close to us, but haven't tried it yet. It's going on my to do list. Oops, I forgot my husband is the one who makes the to do lists so I'll have to put it on his. I somehow don't think he will mind.

Gelati sounds interesting. I've never heard of it before.
