Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Heron and Paving the Road

The weather was just beautiful this morning. I dressed in a few layers because the radio said it was cold but once I got outside and started walking it didn't take long for me to get warm. Before long my hood was down and my sweatshirt unzipped. I walked around the lake and there were lots of people out. It felt like a Saturday morning except that the running club wasn't there. I spotted the heron down by the edge of the water and I was lucky to be able to get a few pictures before he took off.I didn't see any deer, but did see two egrets, and lots of different birds. The birds were all singing their morning songs. How nice to walk around the lake in the sunshine being serenaded by the birds. Life is Good!

I am happy to say that we did go out for that pizza last night.
Last night was my Bible study night and we just made it back in time. I dropped Ken off at home and then drove the two blocks to church. I felt so silly driving that short distance!!

A sunny breezy day which made my clothes happy blowing out there on the line. Got a bit more of my weekly cleaning done in the morning again. I go through different stages about cleaning the house. For a while I'll clean the whole house in a day. Just spend the day cleaning it from top to bottom. I do that for a while and then I will just do a little bit each day and by the end of the week everything gets done. Right now I prefer to do it the little bit each day way.

Now that all the building of the townhouses where I live are finally done, and the builders trailer has been carted away, we only need to have the paving of the streets done. That has started today. Today they are cutting up parts of the streets, and evening things up before the final paving. I enjoyed spending some time watching the paving getting done right outside my front window.
This cut out is right in front of my house. Then his guy drizzled I guess it was oil around the edges. Now the macadam is being spread around. And smoothed out.The roller packs it down. And now its done. Ready for the final paving.
Now off I go to read.
Hope your day so far as been a good one.
Happyone :-)

the world cries and you rejoice.

Karen,

Your photography just gets better and better. The pictures of the heron were fantastic. You've got to let us in on the camera you use. I miss mine. I have got to get it fixed. Take care and I will talk to you again soon.

I think egrets are such interesting birds and you really got some great photos of this one.
Glad you got out for your pizza.
Interesting to see the different steps in the paving project. It will be nice, I'm sure, when your development is completely finished.
Enjoy your evening.

Aren't the wading birds majestic looking?
Have they removed the telephone pole from the middle of the street, yet?

Thank you Andrew, My camera is just a point and shoot - its an Olympus FE-340 and one of the least expensive ones. I like it because it is very small and its easy to take it with me where ever I go. I don't know if you ever visit my other blog, but I try to post a picture a day there.

Kathy, No that telephone pole is still there. Verizon has to come and take their stuff off of it before they will move it. Verizon said they would remove it over a year ago now.

Hi Karen,
You are rewarded with some lovely sights as you walk in the early morning. I'm soon leaving on a run here in Denver - it was 29 earlier, but I think is warming now that the sun has been up awhile. Enjoy your weekend.
