Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A nice cool, crisp morning with no rain today for my walk. I took the shorter way around the lake route and only walked 5 miles because I knew I would be walking another 2 miles in the afternoon. Quite a few people out around the lake enjoying the beautiful morning.
This sidewalk leads from the back of the shopping center across the street from where I live to the front of it. I usually start my walk walking down this sidewalk.
A deer along the way.
Another photo here on the way back of the same deer. This photo is zoomed in a bit. That's why its a bit grainy.

Talked on the phone to my Mom this morning. We email a lot but its nice to hear her voice once in a while. :-)
Went to Walmart because someone told me the yarn I buy on the cone was for sale for $2.50 (regular $6.97). Only one color was for sale for $3 and since I asked about the other colors they gave me another color for $5. I only bought one of each because I have a lot of this yarn in reserve or as knitters call it "my stash."

Did a bit of reading early afternoon after lunch and then at later on I walked to a friends house a mile away. She is a knitter I met at my knit group and I took her a pair of needles that she wanted to borrow. I was supposed to meet her at 3 but she wasn't home when I got there. I left the needles by her door. She called me later to apologize for not being there - she got tied up at work. Well, it was a nice afternoon for an extra walk. I saw another deer on the way home too.

Kenny picked me up and went to Five Guys for supper. I know those French fries are not good for me but I love them. They are the best fries ever!!

I hope your Friday brought you a bit of happiness.
Karen :-)

What a beautiful deer!
I think with all the walking you do the french fries won't be too bad. Have a nice weekend.

Lovely deer. The early mornings in your part of the world must be wonderful, especially to see the changes during the seasons.

Thanks for visiting me on Scotland for the Senses!

I remember when Five Guys was just a little hole in the wall with takeout only. It was located not far from my headquarters bldg in Arlington. Many times I waited in line for a burger & fries to take back to my hotel room so I wouldn't have to go out for dinner. Now they have several locations one of which is less than 2 miles from my house. Those ARE the best fries on the face of this earth!
