Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rocky bank

I walked around my lake today. On the path that leads to the lake that runs along a stream there was a tree that came up by its roots. It fell across the stream and took a part of the bank along with it. It worked like a dam and collected all the sticks floating on down. While I was gone the tree was removed, the bank fixed up and stones were put along the bank. Some of the debris is still there awaiting some more rain to wash it down stream.
Oddly I didn't see any deer this morning but I did see a cute little chipmunk. I usually see chipmunks running across the path, but today was the first time I saw one running up a tree. I never would have thought they would go up a tree!!

Ken took my wheel off the car and we took it to Mr Tire to have the tire patched. We didn't take the car because we didn't want to have to leave it. This way they just have the tire. It was just a small hole so they were able to patch it. It only cost $30 which is a whole lot better than buying a new tire at $260!! I'm almost afraid to drive around my house now. I'm still picking up nails. Our neighbor across from us has already gotten TWO flat tires!

I finally got a little reading done and some knitting too.
Still catching up on some blogs.
Hope your Monday was a happy kind of day.

Our Tennessee chipmunks are very adept at running up trees -- they can give the squirrels competition. I certainly hope you don't get any more flat tires.

Enjoyed reading about your Maine trip. I used to live in the NE part of the state. Hope you don't get any more flats.

They have got to made responsible for cleaning up their debris. I'd complain at the Model office!!! BTW, the gas station at the shopping center across the street patched my tire in a half hour and charged me $25. They are really nice there.

Kathy, my tire is a run flat and they cost a bit more than a normal tire. Mr Tire would have cost only $20 if it was a regular tire.

I have been seeing a lot of chipmunks this summer. They are so cute and run fast for such little guys.

I sure hope you don't get any more flat tires.

Thanks so much for praying for my sister on your morning walks. I was so touched when I read your comment and know that my sister will be too.
