Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

A ride

You're not going to believe this, but after all the driving we did this past week, we got in the car and went for a ride this afternoon. We headed out towards Annapolis and were going to go to a park but for some reason the police had it blocked and we couldn't get in.
We stopped in at MacDonald's and got an ice cream cone. We spread out a blanket in the shade on the grass and sat down and ate it right there. It was an ice cream picnic. :-)

Tonight we watched an episode of A Touch of Frost and yes I had more ice cream. This time my favorite chocolate chip.

I forgot to mention that while we were driving in Maine we saw a porcupine crossing the street on a back road. We stopped and turned around but by that time it had crossed the street and was headed back into the woods. I took a picture but it blended in so well in the woods that you couldn't even see it. That was the first time that I had ever seen a porcupine in real life!!
One thing I was hoping to see was a moose but we never did - only all those painted ones. :-)
Funny thing is I see more deer and wildlife right here on my walk than I did being out in the country and I live between two big cities!!

I am now off to read some blogs before I go to bed.
Good night all!
Happyone :-)

  1. An ice cream picnic sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I think it's neat that you have so much wildlife around your home.

  2. Yes, you really do see more wildlife than anyone I know! Your ice cream picnic sounds lovely.

  3. An ice cream picnic sounds delightful! I've only seen once porcupine in real life and I stayed away. I kept hearing a grade school teacher telling us that those quills can eject or something! LOL!

  4. I am glad you and your husband do all these nice things together. I think it`s nice to see wild animals too.

  5. Was it the square in Annapolis you were heading to? I wonder why it was blocked off? You're right about seeing lots of wildlife around here -- it's like living at the zoo!

Hello my friend.
Thanks for stopping by.
I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
Thanks. : )
