Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Proverbs

It was very quiet and still when I was out early this morning. It was colder than it has been - only 40 degrees. No breeze at all though and the sun came out. A great morning for walking. I think Proverbs is a fun book of the BIble to read. Here are some that I like. 3:3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you. 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. 15:13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful face. 15:17 Better is a dish of vegetables where love is, than a fattened ox and hatred with it. 16:3 Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established. 16:9 The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. 16:31 A gray head is a crown of glory. 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine. 20:17 Bread obtained by falsehood is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel. 21:23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from trouble. 26:11 Like a dog that returns it its vomit, is a fool who repeats his folly. 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. Hope you enjoyed reading the proverbs. Do you have a favorite one? May your Sunday be one of happiness!!

I really enjoyed reading the Proverbs. 26:11 is mentioned in Shakespeare's HENRY V. Very interesting. My favorite is 3:27.

Mine is one of the best known, I guess. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs and Psalms are great OT books to read. I like them both a lot.
