Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

July Photo-a-day Challenge 30

July Photo-a-day Challenge with ChrissyT
Day 30
SHAPES

Shapes on a quilt that is on my bed.
Wish I could say that I made it but I didn't.

What a beautiful morning for walking.
Lots of sunshine and 57 degrees with a slight breeze.

Walked around both of the cemeteries first.

Then stopped at the Jeep to pick up a book and a DVD and walked
over to the library to put them down the drop.
Flower pots at the library.

From there I walked all over town up and down all the streets
including around the ball park loop.
I usually talk to the chickens when I pass by but didn't say anything this time.
They all came running over to the fence to see me
as if to say, hey you didn't say hello.
So I stopped to say hi and took this picture.

Rebecca was out walking Leo and also saw Anna and her dad Mark.

☀️    🥾    🌸    😊

Haven't had pancakes in a while so made some for breakfast.

Took advantage of this sunny day and did a load of laundry.
Like looking out the window and seeing it blowing in the breeze.

A few house chores got done and then it was back to
my recipes.

🌮    🥗    🍲    🥧

Will try to explain what I'm doing with them.
I have a blog with about 140 recipes on it.
Also have a binder with recipes written on all sorts of paper,
cards, and recipes cut of out magazines.
I have trouble putting them in specific categories
because of overlapping categories.

Starting with the first recipe I put on my blog,
I'm numbering all of them.
Then putting the recipes in that order in the binder.
I'm printing out the recipes and putting them in clear plastic sleeves.
I'll have an index in the front of all the recipes and numbers.
Then I can search my blog for the recipe get the number and find it in the binder.

It is a big job and who knows how long it will take me.
I kind of want to get it done in a timely manner because I have
recipes scattered all over the floor in the office!!

I don't have all my recipes on my blog so will have left over recipes when
I'm done and I'll add those to my blog or
throw away recipes that I'll never make again.
The recipes I've never tried will go into another place until I try them.
Then they will either get put into the binder and blog or thrown out.
Hope it doesn't sound too confusing.

I thank you for stopping by.
Hope you enjoyed your day.

Hi Karen, the chickens are so cute! Beautiful photos from your walk! The quilt on your bed is lovely. You may not have made it yourself, but I can see you really like it.
Your pancake breakfast sounds very nice!
I wish you all the best in compiling and organizing your recipes!

The quilt is beautiful!
I like your chicken photo too.
You're making me think I need to work on my recipes. I have some binders of recipes I haven't looked at in some time and should really do something about them.

Wow! That quilt is gorgeous, Karen!
I left a reply to your comment over on the blog this afternoon to let you know that I have started my recipe project. You have definitely been the inspiration for tackling this job. I'm only doing 5-6 recipes a day that I actually type up, but I am also throwing away the ones that I know I'll never make again. So, it's probably going to take me a year or so to complete the project but doing it that way helps me not feel overwhelmed. Good luck with yours!
