Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A good turnout

Thanks to those who mentioned the font size.
Sounds like I got it right now. 😊

A misty rainy walk this morning.
Temperature 40 degrees and a bit windy.
Sunrise 6:03

On the way to town.

Started my walk going down the main road and up and down side streets.
Then to the ball park and walked that loop.
Up and down a few more side streets and back to the ball park
and walked around there again.

This time I spotted an escapee headed back home.

Continued back to the lower cemetery and around there to
finish up my walk for today.

Not much activity in town on this rainy morning and
didn't see any one else out.

🌧    😊    ☔️    🐓

Book club meeting at the library this morning.
Discussed the book Mister Owita's Guide to Gardening by Carol Wall.
A great turnout today with 14 of us.
Most thought there were some good parts to the book but
over all didn't care for it.
That's how I felt too.
A couple people liked it and thought it was good.

Next month we are doing something a little different.
We all are going to come up with a poem we like
and read it.

I liked the book Theo of Golden so much that I told Ken to read it.
He finished and liked it too.

This afternoon I got a little cleaning done
and finished knitting one of my slippers.

We are having our homemade pizza a day early because
tomorrow we are going to go out to eat
up at the ridge and have fish and chips.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope you had a wonderful day.

Hi dear Karen, your photos are lovely. I use a large font size on my blog just to make it easier for my readers. However, I will mention this for others who may not know this.
If you are visiting a website where the font is very small, you just need to press CTRL and then the plus sign + and you can make it larger.
Hope this helps others who may not know this.

In addition to my above comment, if you accidentally make the font too large by clicking too much on the + sign, you just have to click on the - minus sign.

Thanks for the tips Linda ...

We had a mix of weather in my part of the UK today ... including hail stones!

That was a good turn out at the book club meeting.

Enjoy your pizza tonight.

All the best Jan

I got a kick out of the escapee.
Theo of Golden is on my list of books to read. Everybody seems to love it.
Interesting tip from Linda above. That's good to know. Thanks Linda.

I think the font size is great.
I liked Theo of Golden so much that I told Bob to read it and he also enjoyed it. :) Now a friend from church is reading it.

Hi Karen. Sounds like a great turn-out at your book club. I really want to read Theo of Golden. I need to see if the library has it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Fish & chips sounds so good, and so do the poem readings!

Hopefully the escapee chicken got back into the enclosure.
It was windy here too. Too bad because otherwise it was a nice day.

Well looks like we know why the chicken crossed the road.
Its nice when others have the same opinion of a book. At least you know there are others who share your view point.

Hello,
I like the chicken , they seem to like walking next to the road here.
I love that Einstein quote. Sounds like a great day.
Happy Friday! Have a great day and a happy weekend!

Hello! I have missed visiting you here! I wanted to let you know that I was not only able to keep up with all the young people walking in Disney, I was usually leading the way! Thank you for encouraging me to walk, my friend! Enjoy your fish and chips! Have a wonderful weekend, too.
