Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

In and out today

A sunny morning and 44 degrees with just a slight breeze makes for a great walk.

Walked around both of the cemeteries to begin.

The dogwood tree is not quite in full bloom but thought it looked pretty against the blue sky.

In this photo I liked the post shadows on the path.

The fields by the cemeteries have all been plowed and ready for planting.
Usually corn is planted but some years soy beans are planted.
Will have to wait and see what this years crop will be.

From the cemeteries I walked over to the ball park and around there a couple of times, then around town till I my pedometer vibrated which is my single to head back to the Jeep.

The chickens hadn't been let of their coop yet when I walked past, but they were at the door and the rooster was crowing.

Quiet around town and didn't see any people or activity.
It was a happy sunny walk. ๐Ÿ™‚☀️

Did a bunch of house work chores in the morning and after lunch we headed outside.

We bought a hedge trimmer to use for cutting down the sticker bushes around Happy Trails and both of us tried it out for the first time today.
It works pretty good for what we bought it for.
It is battery operated and a gas one would work better but this one is light enough for me to handle too.
It works better than a weed trimmer because of all the things it kicks up and throws around.
Another thing, we don't have to deal with is the string that keeps breaking!!
I spend more time fiddling with that string than working.

I think I planted the seeds way too early.
They were getting too big to keep in the cups I planted them in.
So even though there is still a danger of frost we planted them outside anyway today.
We can always cover them if we get frost.

I divided one of my two African Violets from one and got four plants.
I'm leaving the one alone encase these 4 don't make it.

It's been a busy and productive day.
Easy supper tonight, hotdogs and baked beans.

Hope you enjoyed your Monday and thanks for stopping by.

I especially liked your first two photographs.
It sounds like you've had a very good, busy day.

Sit down and relax this evening.

All the best Jan

Love that tree against the blue sky. I have a hedge trimmer that I use on my forsythia. Mine is electric though so I have to deal with a cord.

That's a gorgeous blue sky!
I like the shadows too.
I got Bob a rechargable trimmer that can attach to a pole for high up things. He just tried it for the first time last week and said it's going to be very helpful.

Hi Karen. I'm with you on the weed trimmers. I trimmed our lawn a few days ago after Charly mowed it and I spent most of my time trying to get the plastic line in it to work right. It was very frustrating. We also bought a trimmer much like yours for the bushes at our new home, but I forgot to charge the battery, so I ended up hand-trimming one bush. Looks like you had a beautiful spring day. We had pouring rain almost all day. but I won't complain because we need the moisture. See you again tomorrow.

Your flowerpots are pretty. I like the post shadows, too. And how the sun makes the trees in the distance look golden.

Shadows make neat patterns. I like your field collage.
