Opened the garage door and saw that the driveway was a sheet of ice.
I could have ice skated down it.
So back in the house I went and had to walk in the basement.
It warmed up later in the day and the ice melted and we just had rain but by that time I had gotten all my steps walked inside.
This morning I gave the hearth and and mantel a thorough cleaning and put different things on the mantel.
I wanted to put only white objects on the mantel so walked around the house and found some.
It is like going shopping in your house. 🙂
The stove is gas and the pots and kettle are just for decoration.
I could cook on it but the stove throws off so much heat by the time whatever was cooking was done it would 90 degrees in the house!!!
The afternoon was spent reading The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston which I'm thoroughly enjoying.
Mistaken identity puts Frederick living Bernards life in a nursing home.
Making hamburgers and tater tots for supper so better get them started.
Thanks for popping in for a vist and hope you had a wonderful Tuesday.

GrannyM - The woodpecker that made those holes in the tree is a pileated woodpecker. We had what we usually get at Brenda's a cheese pizza.

It's spring here so I've been doing some cleaning and the husband is out mowing the lawns.
Hi dear Karen, it was mild here today in Montreal and is supposed to be like this the rest of the week. In the 30's Fahrenheit. Compared to -14 Celsius both Sunday and Monday, a big difference! I love your mantle!!!
...Karen, you have some lovely collectables.
I do like how your mantel looks.
All the best Jan
Your mantel looks very nice. The book sounds like one I'd enjoy so I've ordered it. Thanks!

Your hearth and mantel looks so nice. I like the way you have the little white lights on it as well.
I love what you did with the mantel (especially the swan), and you put each item in the perfect place for a great overall effect.
Love the look on your mantel. And I really like the copper kettle on the stove. I love the look of copper.
Hi Karen! I love your mantel! Do you heat your house completely with the stove, or do you also use a conventional furnace? I love that scripture at the end of your post - yes, we all need to get ready because Jesus will come back! See you again soon!
Thanks for answering my questions.
I like your stove. I have an electric fireplace on the enclosed porch and it sure heats too!
I like what you put on your mantel. It's fun to shop your own house!!
Hello,
I love the lights on the mantel. We have a big old wood stove, it does put out a lot of heat. Take care, enjoy your day!
Karen, I love your white items on the mantle! It looks great! And that was such a good book. One of my favorites.
Your mantle is so sweet. The lights make it even more cozy. Janice

Beautiful fireplace!
Hi, new here in your page but i enjoyed reading... by the way, added you in my link page so i can visit here when i get the chance. A blessed week ahead!
What a beautiful fireplace.
After I took all my Christmas down, I did all white on my hutch, with a few black accents on my dining room hutch (a little farmhouse / retro / vintage looks) and little corner stand) and the open cupboard I have above stove in Kitchen, white again. I just put up some Easter and mingled alot of that same white things in with the pastels. Love it. Dawn P. Albany, GA
