Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

At home again

The snow continues here in western Maryland 🌨️ so my walking continues inside.
Supposed to end sometime over night.

It's a winter wonderland and so pretty but I sure do miss walking in town. ☃️

Monday, so got the sheets washed, dried and put back on the bed.
Did some weekly cleaning.
I have a Dyson Stick vacuum and it kept cutting on and off so it was time to take it apart and give the filters a good cleaning.
I hope that's the problem!!
The sock filter is out and drying and has to dry 24 hrs before putting it back in.

Still haven't gone outside to clear the driveway.

Waiting till tomorrow when hopefully the snow will have stopped.
Will probably have to use the snow blower and shovel because the tractor still won't start.

We've made a very good start on the puzzle!!
As usual I did some reading and knitting this afternoon too.

Out the back door.

Simple supper tonight of hot dogs and baked beans.

Hope your Monday has been a good one.
Thanks for coming by.

Your day sounds much like mine. I did ride my stationary bike today, but much prefer a long walk outside. Bitterly cold here in KY, with ice and not a decent thaw all week long.

...dinner sounds simply wonderful.

That looks like a lot of snow.
Our winter storm brought a little bit of snow and a little bit of ice. Thankfully the power wasn't interrupted.
Hope your vacuum is back in business soon.

Gosh, that is a LOT of snow. Oh no, both your vacuum and the tractor broke, and of course at the worst time.

Dear Karen, your photos are gorgeous. Your dinner sounds great 👍

Looks a lot like MI! Sorry the tractor isn't starting though. Bob had an electronic lock go bad on his shop door, probably because of the extreme cold, so he was out fixing that. Not nice weather for that kind of thing.
We had leftover chili for supper.
I have a dyson stick vac too which I love. Mine started acting the same way and the issue was the battery wasn't charging well. I ordered a replacement battery from Amazon (Not even Dyson brand). I think it cost about $30 and it's been working without trouble for over a year. Much cheaper than a new vacuum!
I hope your filter cleaning works, but if not, this is a possiblilty.

Hi Karen! Wow, that is a lot of snow! I wish you could send some of your snow out to Utah. We aren't having much snow this year at all. See you again tomorrow!

After hubby shoveled us out...snowblower would not work...we had many appts and things to take care of. We were gone most of the day and decided to eat out. I am done with snow. But it was nice seeing a couple more Bald Eagles on the way back home. Janice

Hello,
My walks outdoors has been put on hold too. Between the snow and ice and the super cold temps I am staying inside.
It look like you have a lot of snow there. Take care, stay warm and safe. Enjoy your day and the week ahead.

What a lot of snow, walking would be impossible.. yes indoors is the best idea.

Karen, it's hard to believe that you can measure your snow in feet and with us just living on the other side of the mountain we can still measure ours in inches. But I am not complaining. 🙂

You certainly got a fair share of snow at your place. Hopefully you'll be walking in town again, soon. Sounds like a good day inside. :)

I've been thinking of you and the winter storm. It looks like the icy part didn't reach you. Your snow photos are really lovely. But I have to admit, I'd rather look at the photos than be out in it taking the photos! LOL
Stay warm and I hope you can be out walking outside again soon.

As Jan commented...snow is pretty in pictures...to which I would add that it is quite inconvenient for people that need to go somewhere. Staying home is best but not always possible.
I hope your vacuum is a simple fix.

I can imagine how strange it must feel to have your daily walking rhythm suddenly taken away... when your body expects it, and the day is built around it. It sounds like you’ve found a good way to keep some movement and calm inside instead. And honestly, there’s something very satisfying about taking something apart, cleaning it properly, and hoping it behaves again afterward.

I like how you let the day be what it is — puzzle progress, reading, knitting, simple food.I hope tomorrow really does open things up again so you can get back outside. Until then, it sounds like you’re taking good care of both your space and yourself. 💕
