Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

ABC Friday

It snowed a little more last night.
It was a cloudy day with just a little wind.
Still no morning walk in town.

Did the usual house chores first thing after breakfast
and then we (mostly me) worked on the puzzle.
After lunch I worked on it a little more and finished it.
This one was another bit of a challenge but not too hard
that it wasn't fun.

It was 20 degrees this afternoon cloudy and I decided
to go walking around here since I couldn't in town.
Went up and down the lane.
The lane dead ends at our neighbors house.
Stopped here to take a picture.
That's town off in the distance.

There's another driveway at the end of the lane and I walked to
the end of that too.
No one lives there so the driveway wasn't plowed.
Made my way up in the snow that no one else walked in.

Except for the deer.
Saw lots of their tracks.

Making my way back down the lane.

Sure nice to be outside and walking.

MY ABC'S

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Sometimes pictures, sometimes just words but it will be something about me.

O IS FOR ONLY

I'm the oldest, the middle and the youngest child
because I am an only child.

Once in a while I wished I had a brother but I was happy
being an only child.

I was almost one of four but my mom lost three babies.
One before me and two after.

Made lasagna for supper.
It's in the oven now, smells good, and I'm hungry.

Thanks for popping in for a visit.
Hope you had a wonderful day.

Diana - The plan for the blankets is to cuddle up with one and keep toasty warm on these cold winter evenings.

I'm an only child too. I was a tomboy, always wished I had an older brother. My life as an "only" was pretty tolerable. Your photos are lovely~~I grew up in upstate NY, but now I'm in Texas, so no snow for us, thankfully.

You must be so happy that you've gotten to walk around outside some these last couple of days...even if it wasn't in town for the normal routine. And that sunshine yesterday afternoon was glorious! Next week we are in for some warmer temperatures! Yay!

The temperature blankets are so nice, Karen. That took a lot of work...especially with doing two of them, not to mention all of the other things you've made for others. You are amazing!

Oh...and wanted to share with you that I just posted my first book for 2026, using your format and I love it! AND also, I wanted to tell you that seeing all of your beautiful puzzles has created a desire in me to start doing puzzles again. This is the perfect time of year for them...so I ordered three and they are to be here tomorrow, God willing. You definitely are an inspiration.

The town looks like it's down in a valley. I am an only child too. Always wanted a sibling.

What a gorgeous view that is in the second picture. It looks just as snowy there as it is here.

Well done blazing those snowy lanes and driveways. Fun to see these different views. Glad you enjoyed being an only child. How sad for your mom to have lost her babies. Enjoy your Saturday!

Both of my parents were the only child hence no aunts or uncles for me, and only distant cousins. Mr D had lots of them, so I adopted them! lol

Hi Karen. I always enjoy your ABC post when you share something about yourself or a story from your life. I was also raised as an only child. I have two biological sisters and a biological brother, but I was not raised with any of them. One sister and one brother were raised in Colorado, and one sister was raised in New York, so I am really one of four, but also an only child. I love that puzzle you did. Stay warm!

You have such lovely views. We had a clipper come down from the North we were not expecting and had more snow this afternoon. Your puzzle looks quite nice. I saw bunny, squirrel and bird tracks outside today No deer. Janice
