Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The blanket is done

We got a bunch of snow last night so another day of not walking in town.
It was 11 degrees but hardly any wind and in the afternoon
we even had sunshine.
What a treat that was!! 🙂☀️

I took down the Christmas tree and all the decorations this morning
and put every thing away back in my stack of shaker boxes.
I leave white lights up around the mantle all year.
They look so nice and cheery on those dreary days.

Finished knitting the Temperature Blanket last night.
Here it is.

I put more detail about it on my other blog

After lunch Ken and I bundled up and went outside.
Ken got the driveway cleared with the tractor.
I shoveled a path out to the bird feeders and then replenished the seed.

Then I got to walk around outside in the snow.

It was delightful being outside. 🙂 ☃️
Couldn't make a snowman, since it was so cold the snow
was very light so not good for snowman building.
Makes for easy shoveling though.

I added up the money I found while walking around town this year.
1 Dollar Bill
3 quarters
7 dimes
7 nickels
17 pennies
For a grand total of
$2.87

Well that's going to be it for this first day of the New Year.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your day was a good one.

Hi Karen! It sure isn't that cold here, and we still don't have any snow, but we did get some rain today. I love that temperature blanket! It is beautiful! Wow, you found quite a bit of money on your walks this year! I hope that you, and Ken, and David, and Liz have a wonderful 2026!

...Karen, people using credit cards and not carrying cash may have reduced what you find. Happy New Year.
