Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cookies, stitching, party

Warmer this morning than I thought it would be at 27 degrees.
Cloudy and just a little bit windy.

Walked past the firehouse first to see if there was any activity yet.
Still all dark so walked around town and when I next checked
out the firehouse the lights were on inside.

So I went back to the Jeep and got the Welsh Cookies and then
dropped them off at the firehouse where the Drane house cookie
sale is being held from 9 - 12 or until the cookies are sold out.
Dwayne (post office guy) was there setting up the camera corner
where Santa will be to have pictures taken with the kids.
George who I know from walking is Santa.🎅🏻
He's a perfect Santa because he is always Jolly.

Continuoed walking around the ball park loop which is right next
to the firehouse.
Then walked around the cemetery on the hill.

Saw a quick peek of some blue sky before the clouds came back.

As always nice to be able to get outside and walk.

☁️    🌥    🎄    🍪

Went to the library for stitching time with the ladies.
There were 5 of us there.
I got another throw started.
I could only stay a little while because I had to
leave at 10:15 to go to church for the Ladies Christmas Party at 11:00.
It was a fun time.
Food, songs, games, singing specials, and a devotional.
There were about 50 of us there.

Worked on the puzzle for a little bit when I got home.

It's been a good day. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.

I like seeing the firehouse. Our church is not having a Christmas party this year.

I hope the sale went well, I'm sure your cookies were a hit.
It's so nice to even catch a glimpse of the blue sky this time of year.
We had our church Christmas party at 11 today too. I'll do a post about it next week - lots of fun!

Your Ladies Christmas party sounds fun. Ours is usually in the day but this year, a new lady took it over and it's on a Friday night. Most of the ladies are older and don't like to drive in the dark, country roads. I cancelled out as well. My husband and I are going to a concert instead.

My Steve played Santa so many years. Some years he didn't feel like doing it and then the phone would ring and it would be a scout troop or a preschool, etc. and he could never say no. After about 20 years I put our suit, wig and beard in a yard sale. A young dad bought it and he was so excited that he was going to get to be Santa Claus and my Steve was so excited to see that suit leave our home, LOL

Town looks so pretty in the snow. I know I would enjoy belonging to a stitching group.

Looks like you had another fun filled day. One of our friends went to Santa school here in Michigan and has the real beard (he has a white beard) and does events around here just before Christmas. Anytime during the year when we are out to dinner with them and a child sees him, they always think he is the real Santa. He just smiles and tells them to be good. Janice
