Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

ABC Friday and the living room

This. morning when I walked it was 17 degrees.
Cloudy skies and 3 quarters through my walk there
were some snow flurries.

This caught my attention, a snow eight.

Walked around town in the places I could find that weren't icy like yesterday
and again walked down the main street towards home and then
back to town again.

No people out and about this morning.
Just cars, trucks, and school buses.

Baked Chocolate Chip cookies this morning.
Some for us and some I'm bringing tomorrow to the ladies
Christmas party at church.

Since I posted pictures of our kitchen and dining room areas
thought I might as well show you the living room too.

Standing in the corner by the Christmas tree to take this picture
of everything.
As you can see its one big open space.

K is for Knitting
You all are probably not surprised I picked knitting this week.
I enjoy knitting and have been doing it for a very long time.

I'll tell you how it all came about.

My mom and her good friend (who I called Auntie Wilma)
rented a bungalow down at the New Jersey shore.
They took us kids down for the week and the dad's
would be there on the weekend.
There was me and Auntie Wilma's and her 4 kids.

We had day after day of rain and us kids were getting bored.
My mom had the idea of teaching us all how to knit.
So off we went to the store to get yarn and needles.
Me, Linda, Nicky, Kenny, and David all had a knitting lesson.
The four of them caught on quickly but I had a bit of trouble.
My mom had no patience teaching me and I ended up crying.
They were all knitting and I felt bad, but then Linda took me
aside in the other room and she was the one who taught me to knit.
I've been knitting ever since.
I was 8 years old.

That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you had a wonderful day.

What would you be doing if you never learned to knit?
