Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

 Happy Sunday

🎶 Onward Christian Soldiers 🎶
Sabine Baring-Gould

1. Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
Christ, the royal Master,
leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
see his banner go!

Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!

2. At the sign of triumph
Satan's host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
loud your anthems raise!

3. Like a mighty army
moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
one in charity.

4. Onward, then, ye people,
join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
in the triumph song;
Glory, laud, and honor,
unto Christ the King;
This thro' countless ages
men and angels sing.

📖 II Timothy 2:3 📖
Thou therefore endure hardness,
as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Have a Blessed Sunday

One of my favourite hymns. Perfect for Remembrance Day, November 11th.

A hymn I know so well and I always think the congregation sing it with extra gusto (not sure I've used the right word!?) but we all seem to.

That is a very nice photograph.
Enjoy a peaceful Sunday.

All the best Jan

Good song with Veterans Day coming up. We actually sang that one in church not too long ago.
Beautiful sunrise!
