Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Old Lamp

Got to town and started walking a little bit later than usual.
Was there at 7:00.
There was a mix of sun and clouds and the temperature was 50 degrees.
No wind and sunrise was 6:47.

Walked around both of the cemeteries.

Went over and walked around the long barn.
Some cows were enjoying breakfast.

Also walked down to the barn by the Drane house.
All quiet in the barnyard there, no bulls there today.

Next I headed over to the ball park.
Saw Bill on my way there and stopped to say hi.
I asked if I could take his picture.
This is Bill who keeps our little town neat and tidy.

After walking around the ball park went back to the Jeep and picked
up a book and then to the library to put it down the drop.

Walked around town some more and that ended my walk.

Saw Sheila and we passed by each other numerous times!!!
Rebecca was out also.

Since I was a little bit later I saw plenty of school buses today.
There goes bus number 46 driving by with Mike at the wheel.
It's also the bus that Kinsley rides.

I had another delightful walk.
Found a quarter.

🌤    💰    🚌    🥾

We both felt like French toast this morning for breakfast
so I made us some.

We went to the library to pick up a couple more books and DVD's.

I have a table (old sewing machine) in a corner of the living
room by the windows.
I thought it needed a lamp on it.
Went down in the basement and brought up an old lamp
that we had back in the late 70's.
Cleaned it up.
It didn't have a lamp shade but I had one I wasn't using.
It is blue though and don't like it with the lamp.

I painted it white and it is now drying.
Next I'm going to sponge another color on it, maybe a light gray.
Will show you the results tomorrow.

When I get done with this post I'll be making supper.
We're having that fresh corn that Holly gave us.
We'll have that with chicken strips.

So that's been by day.
Hope your Wednesday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Your sky photographs are always lovely to see.
Enjoy your chicken strips and the corn.
I enjoyed chicken earlier but no corn for me ... a mix of peas, carrots and broccoli.

All the best Jan

Beautiful photos, Karen, and I love seeing the cows!!! I just want to reach out and pet them. Fresh corn and chicken strips sounds like a lovely meal. I will enjoy seeing the lamp after you finish work on it. Bill looks like a nice man.

I like that old lamp. The painted shade will complement the lamp nicely. Always nice to see those cows!

I've been craving french toast. Maybe this weekend I"ll make some. Look forward to seeing the lamp after you're all done
