Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Lamp Shade

Temperature for walking this morning was 58 degrees.
A nice mix of sun and clouds.
Sunrise 6:48

This morning I walked all around town first and then
headed over to the cemeteries and walked around both of them.

Then it was over to the ball park for a walk around that loop.
Back to the pond where my walked ended.

I saw someone walking but they were too far away to tell who it was.
Rebecca was out walking again too.
She is the person I see the most when I walk.

I've watched these ferns grow bigger and bigger during the summer.
They started out as little things and look at them now.

Something must have been going on with Verizon in town
because their trucks were all over the place.
I must have seen a dozen of them!!

🌤    🍁    🚶‍♀️

About 9 this morning it clouded up and we got some rain today.
Nice that the weather held off for me on my walk.

Had some potatoes I had to use up so made potato salad.

Then I did some cleaning in the kitchen.
The kind of cleaning that no one notices,
like wiping down cabinets, cleaning the refrigerator and oven.

I played around with the lamp shade.
Didn't like it white.
Then sponged over it with a tan color.
Didn't like that either.
I ended up painting it this tan color and I'm happy with that.

A very happy Thursday to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Karen, you did a great job on the lamp. Your photos are lovely and your potato salad sounds delicious.
It was warm and sunny 🌞 here in Montreal today, and a lovely breeze 😀 Great for walking and enjoyable.

...the shade looks so much better. I have 4 Boston ferns and I overwinter them in the house. They are GIANTS!

Sunny, warm and breezy today here in eastern NY. That's a darling lamp! so cute!! Our sun rose a bit earlier than you. I came down the stairs to the deck at 6:35 and the sun was shining so nicely! My walk was this afternoon as I had many errands to run and some housework to do. Your ferns are SO BIG!! Happy Weekend.

The new color of the shade really does compliment the lamp much better. Those big ferns on each side of the door are gorgeous!

I think so much of our cleaning isn't noticed by anyone but WE know it's clean. I like those big ferns. I have a pretty big one in the livingroom but it's a few years old.
I like the lampshade a lot!!

I need to do some of that kitchen cleaning you mentioned. I don't notice things for months and then suddenly one day I look and go "EW!" And that's when I clean.
