Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walk in the rain

This first of August I had a wet walk.
It was 59 degrees with a slight breeze.

Started my walk going down the main street in town.
It was just cloudy but 1/2 mile later it started to rain.
I had my umbrella in the Jeep so went back and got it.
I was pretty wet already but continued on.

Went up and down the main road and some side streets.
Then went around the ball park loop a few times.
There were 4 people together just getting to the ball park to run laps
as I was leaving.

The pickle ball court still doesn't have a net up but they
did paint the blacktop red.

Walked around town some more and lastly around one
of the cemeteries.

It was a wet walk but still nice to be out walking.

Took a picture yesterday of this house for sale.
I looked it up on Zillow for the details.

😊    🌧    🌻    ☔️

Pretty quiet day this Friday.
Since I had my weekly housework done just had to do the
basic every day stuff.

I read some, knitted some, and just puttered about the house.

Stayed cool and rainy today.
It never made it out of the 60's.

Happy Friday to you and hope yours was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Deb - I've read both the Fairacre (20) and Thrush Green (13) series of Miss Read Books.  I think they are best read in order.  See all the Miss Read books HERE.

GrannyM - Yesterday sunrise was 6:16 and the same today.  Sunset was 8:30 and this evening 8:29.
The Miss Read book, Fresh From the Country isn't part of the Fairacre or Thrush series but a stand alone book.

Your pictures look so nice, Karen. Just like I was walking with you in the rain.

Love that house! Carroll and I both love field stone houses. Thanks for including the link.

Our temps did make it into the 70s...72 to be exact. Such a beautiful day to thank the Lord for!

What a fun post and I loved touring the Stone cottage. That's my kind of house.

I love the rain, Karen, and your photos are lovely! Here in Montreal we need rain badly! We got a lot of rain in July, but none for the past several days, which is not good, as even though (thankfully) we had a comfortable two days, the heat and humidity will be back tomorrow.
On our local news this evening our farmers are saying that their tomatoes and some other produce are all ready for harvest! This is quite early, due to the wacky weather. LOL!

I hope you have a lovely evening and weekend. God bless you.

You sure had a wet and cool start to the day! It was in the 60's here this morning and turned into a beautiful day.
That's a cute house!

...walking and singing in the rain sounds good to me. it hasn't rained in weeks here.

The house is beautiful! And that gorgeous bush! You can see it from the inside too. But the rooms are kind of small and there is not enough counter space in the kitchen. And the basement, OY! I think the outside is much nicer than the inside.

We had rain yesterday morning. Today it was on the cool side. That's a cute little house. A bit out of my price range though

Nice pictures. It wasn’t supposed to rain here today, but it did. I was sitting outside on the deck when it started.

It's really cool you went for a walk even when it was raining. I think it's neat how you explored your town and the cemetery. It's smart you went back for your umbrella.

I’m looking forward to our rainy season but still have about 2-3 more months without.

Thanks for answering my questions. There's quite a difference in our sun rise times ( 5:39, 6:16 ) and I watched a video explaining the whole thing but some parts of it just confused me more LOL.
I like that stone house and enjoyed the many pictures of the inside. Nice kitchen with lots of cabinets.
