Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Farm Loop

A cloudy walk for me this morning and 64 degrees.
Sunrise 6:32

Took my walking stick with me and walked the Farm Loop.
I like having my stick with me when I'm out of town just in case
I run into some kind of unfriendly animal.

I stopped to say hi to the donkeys.
Called to them and one by one they came over to me.

Left them and continued walking around the Loop.

Saw a few deer running about but didn't get any pictures.
George was driving by and stopped to say hi.
Walked around by the school and then back to the pond.
When I got back to the Jeep Sheila was just getting there
and we stopped to talk for about 10 minutes before I left for home.

☁️    🫏    🚶‍♀️    🤗

French toast for breakfast this morning.
Sheets got washed and hung out to dry.
Got the weekly housework started.
Moved a few things around.

This afternoon I sat on the porch a while
watching the deer.
Got some reading and knitting done too.
Work in the morning, fun in the afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by and
hope your Monday was enjoyable.
❤️ HappyK 🤗

When I see a donkey I always think of Jesus - as He enters Jerusalem fulfilling the prophecy from Zechariah 9:9. Such a gentle, noble animal.

I never leave home without my stick. I have been moving a few things around which I consider fun. It also inspires me to go a bit deeper with my cleaning. I like your philosophy - work in the morning, fun in the afternoon.

And here I thought donkeys had a reputation for being stubborn! Yet they come when you call them! There is a Christian legend about this kind of donkey, because of the cross on their back.

What a peaceful morning walk. It's so nice to have a routine like that, especially when it includes saying hi to friendly donkeys. I can see why you'd bring a stick along, too; you can never be too careful. It sounds like you had a very productive day with the housework and then a relaxing afternoon of reading and watching the deer. That balance of getting things done and taking time for yourself is a great way to live.

I've just published a new post on my blog. I would be honored if you would take a look at www.melodyjacob.com.
