64 degrees this morning when I walked.
Started out cloudy and ended up sunny.
No people walking but 3 people on bicycles passed me.
They must have been in a race of some kind because they
all were wearing numbers.
Near the beginning of the farm loop where there are houses
a big friendly dog came barking to the edge of his yard.
The owner called him and the man put a leash on the dog.
It was the kind with the plastic part that reels the leash in and out.
Then when the dog started barking again I was surprised to see the man
take the plastic part of the leash and hit the dog right across
his back and say shut up.
The dog tried to run back to the house and the man tripped over the
dog and fell down.
I felt like saying, serves you right for hitting your dog.
But I didn't.
He was an older man and I asked if he was alright.
Not too long ago I was thinking that no way was the
corn going to be knee high by the 4th of July.
But we must have had just the right amount of sun and rain
because today the corn is past my knees and up to my thighs.
🌻 🌤 🌽
Another good day for laundry.
Dries quickly on a breezy sunny day.
We did a few things outside this morning.
Weeding
Trimming
Staking up the tomato plants.
Inside I got a bit of house work done.
Ken painted the ceiling over the shower with a couple coats of Kilz paint.
Looks good.
Now will see how well it works.
The yarn in my craft closet was quite a mess so spent some
time in there getting things organized.
Read a bit this afternoon and knitted too.
Beautiful sunny day in the high 70's today with a breeze.
We had left overs from the last couple of suppers
so we ate that for supper this evening.
Hope your Thursday was a great one.
Thanks for stopping by.

I would have wanted to say the same thing to that man for hitting his dog, dear friend! Scolding is fine, but hitting an animal, except in the case of being attacked as in self defense, is downright cruel.
Sounds like you had a very nice walk. Your photos are lovely! Nice that you and Ken got some things done. Here in Montreal it is hot and humid, we are supposed to get storms, but I am not holding my breath. Even if we do, over the weekend into early next week the temperatures are said to be even hotter and more humid. I try to just take one day at a time.
Thank you so much for sharing and have a wonder filled evening. :)
...that corn looks fabulous. A few fields are knee high here, but do to our rainy spring many aren't. Happy 4th, Karen
We just had supper and ours was leftovers too.
You had a pretty walk today!
Our corn has not reached knee high here, it's been very dry.
Happy 4th!
Lovely pictures from your Farm Loop Walk.
Early good wishes for a Happy 4th of July.
All the best Jan
Sad to hear about the dog getting hit. The corn looks beautiful. We've had a lot of rain here in Texas compared to the past 5 years~~I'm loving it.
Hi Karen. Sounds like the dog and the dog owners need some better training. I hope the Kilz works will in your shower. I love the pictures from the farm loop. The corn we planted out in our backyard garden is about as high as the corn there where you are. Charly wanted to plant corn this spring, so he did. I hope we get some ears of corn! Have a happy July 4th!
