Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cloudy walk and a rainy day

Another cloudy morning for walking and 69 degrees and calm.
Sunrise 6:04
Those minutes are sneaking up later each morning.

Walked around both of the cemeteries and the ball park a
few times each.
Then up and down the side streets on the left side of town.
I stayed walking all to the left side of town and never even made
it along the main road.

Went around the long barn.

The pond behind the Drane house.

It was quieter around town than usual, more like a Sat.
I introduced myself to a woman I've seen walking around lately.
Her name is Kerry.
She told me her and a friend have a weekly challenge of who walks
the most each week.
Whoever loses pays the other $5.

☁️    🌼    ☁️    😊

No sun and it felt like rain so it wasn't a good day for laundry.
It ended up being a rainy day and a high of 72 degrees.

Got the rest of my house cleaning done for the week.
It was one of those lazy afternoons that I just read and knitted.

Even though we made pizza for supper on Monday we made it again today.

That's all I have for today.
Hope you enjoyed your Friday.
Thanks for stopping by.
❤️ HappyK 🤗

Hi Karen, today was much more comfortable temperature 🌡 wise. I did a large grocery order which the store delivered, two loads of laundry which included my sheets and pillowcases. It felt great to get out, walk and get some work done.
Your photos are lovely, so happy 😊 to see the cows 🐄 again.
God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Have a wonder filled weekend.

Look at that corn! I like the pond pic too.
The walking challenge is a good one.
We haven't had any significant rain for almost 2 months. It just keeps missing us. They say maybe tomorrow. We're praying that happens!

Wasn't it lovely to have a day where the temperature stayed in the 70s? We enjoyed the rains and Carroll was able to get a few odd jobs done in between the showers.

Hi Karen. Sounds like you had another nice day. That is an interesting walking challenge that the two ladies in your town have. Pizza twice in a week is not too much! Glad you had another nice day and relaxed in the afternoon. See you again tomorrow!

It was much cooler here yesterday too but we didn't get any rain. It still was a lazy day though.

Yep, me too, I could eat pizza several times in a week and be just fine with it. Hope your Saturday is going well.

We often make pizza on Saturday to make sure we have leftovers for Sunday. By the time the family leaves ( after playing Mexican Train) I'm so hungry ( even though we have snacks while we play ).
Do you still keep track of your number of steps? You don't post them any more so I wondered.

We are having the hottest summer I can remember. It started the second week in June feeling like August and has stayed that way. Hot and humid! I wish my husband liked pizza. Can you imagine someone not liking pizza!! I mentioned making one at home, that it might be something he would like, and he turned up his nose. :(

Yes the days are getting shorter. We had a bit of rain come through early this morning. Janice

A nice post, Karen. It's always fun to meet someone new. A $5 challenge would make one a bit more mindful of getting out to walk. I am also noticing those minutes creeping up in the mornings.

We could use some of that rain here in North Carolina. It’s soooo hot here.
