Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Foggy Morning

A foggy start this morning when I went for my walk.
It was 61 degrees and calm.

A foggy mosaic.
The first picture is taken on my drive to town.

First walked around both of the cemeteries.
Passing the pond, the two geese families were there and don't
even move when I walk by now, they are so used to seeing me.
Soon the babies will be as big as their parents.

Headed on over to the ball park and walked around that loop
a couple of times.

Awhile ago now an area was cleared of grass.
I see now that the sides have been cleaned up, leveled,
and a layer of stone put down.
Looks like a building is going to be put it.
Will have. to see.

The rest of my walk was all around town, up and down all the streets.

One of the child care places in town just got a fun new outside toy.

Didn't see any one else about around town this morning.

By the end of my walk the fog was gone and the sun came out
though it is still hazy.

Another engraved gravestone for this Friday.

Did my usual morning routine around the house.

The sun left us midmorning and the rain came down quite heavy.
Even heard a few thunder claps.
We had more sun and more rain throughout the day.

I baked some Rhubarb Bread using some of the frozen rhubarb
I had in the freezer.
Delicious to me, not so for Ken.
Tastes good with a bit of butter spread on it.

Made some weave-it squares.
Only 6 more to go to finish the latest baby blanket.
Maybe today it will be done, for sure tomorrow.

Friday and as you know by now it's homemade pizza night.

Thanks everyone for stopping by on this fine Friday.
I wish you happiness and contentment.

I love a foggy morning! Sounds like it was a mixed weather day.
I like the description on the gravestone - he liked his lawn.
Rhubarb bread sounds good to me.

Wow, you did have a foggy start to the day. That is a beautiful headstone. So sad that he died so young.

In the first collage, my favorite is the last photo with the long line of fog low. I've never seen a playground thing like this one. Sort of like a double see-saw.

So nice the geese are used to you now! The teeter totter looks like fun, I am sure the children will enjoy it. Your photos are beautiful and the headstone is lovely.

Another interesting walk around town. What is your population? Looking forward to watching progress on that empty section.

We had quite the thunderstorm here this afternoon with heavy rain for about an hour.

Friday night pizza sounds like a wonderful tradition. 😋😋

That rhubarb breads sounds deeeeelicious. I'm going to give it a whirl. I'm so happy to hear that someone else loves to walk around a cemetery. When I was able, I used to walk the town's cemetery too. Some thought it morbid but I thought it very peaceful & serene. Do you have trouble with dogs while on your walks? The loose dogs in town (mostly pitbulls!) are horrendous in town here. Thank you for posting your wonderful pictures. ~Andrea xoxo

What a sad thing, a life cut short. I see the "Dad" momento placed in front of the grave.
The rhubarb bread sounds yummy. I wish I could eat things like that now.
The mother goose and her little ones remind me of the 2 bald eagles in California with their two eaglets who are now grown and beginning to leave the nest. I've been watching their live cam for ages.
Have a great weekend,.

The last few mornings I walked have been hazy too. Unfortunately it's not fog but smoke from the Canadian wildfires!
