Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Baby Deer

We were supposed to have thunder storms starting at 8:00
so I went walking a little earlier than usual so I'd be home before 8.

It sure looked like it would storm but it never did.

Walked around both of the cemeteries and went to the long barn
to say hi to the cows.

Then I walked around town and to the ball park,
around there and then back to the Jeep.

John was walking Prim,
Shawn was running,
and a woman I see once in a while was walking her dog.

It's Friday and I have another engraved gravestone to show you.

It was warm this morning for walking at 66 degrees and windy.
Sunrise 6:01

☁️    🌸    🥾    🙂

I gambled with the weather and hung my clothes out on the line.
I'm glad I did because they dried before it rained.

Finished up all those house chores this morning that I put off
from yesterday when I went outside.

The sun came out and it was beautiful outside.
I went out and started clearing the way for another path out back.

Afterwards I got some porch sitting time in.

We did get that thunderstorm but not until late afternoon.

Ken was out on the ATV and on one of the trails when he came across
this tiny fawn that looked like it was dead.
Ken got off the ATV and he said the fawn was still warm and thought
it must have died recently.
He picked the fawn up by the leg to move it to the side and to his
happy surprise the fawn wiggled and when Ken set it down
it ran a little way off and laid down again.
The doe's put their fawns in a place and they stay there till
mom comes for them again later.
Sure glad this story had a happy ending.

Homemade pizza day has rolled around once again.
I make the dough for two pizzas each time I make it so only have to
make the dough every other week.
Even though I had one in the freezer, made two more today,
Now I'll have 2 extras doughs in the freezer.

It's been another good day though a busy one.
Hope your Friday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.
🙂HappyK❤️

I have a lot of favorite Bible verses but this one is very near the top.
If I had always listened to this I would have avoided many problems
in my life.

What a sweet little fawn! I hope for the best for this little creature. Love your photos, and I don't know why, but I love cows. Living in a big city like Montreal I don't get to see them, so thank you so much for sharing. I also love the clouds in your photos and the Scripture verse. We got a little thunderstorm a couple of hours ago in Montreal, but the forecast calls for severe storms tomorrow. We need the rain, as we have had a lot of heat and humidity over the last few days, and there is a lilac tree not far from where I live...and the lilacs are blooming and smelling great. Unfortunately they die and shrivel up very quickly with the heat here, so the rain will hopefully provide some relief for them...and for me, too. :)

Those skies sure did look like some rain was coming.
The fawn is so sweet, glad it was ok.
That's a very good verse.

The way that fawn is lying there it sure does look injured. Thankfully it was not.
You are so efficient with making extra pizza dough every other week. We seem to like using naan bread as a base for our pizzas. My homemade dough get too thick ( too bready).

The little fawn is in such an odd position and does look dead! Usually they sit with their front legs bent underneath them. This is a LONG barn! The flowers are pretty. The motorcycle gravestone is so unique.

Gosh I hope the little fawn is okay. It almost looks like he has a broken leg. I hope I’m wrong and he’s okay. He’s looks so helpless looking. 💔

I'm so glad that the little fawn wasn't dead and I sure hope that the mom comes back for it.
I'm also glad you got your walk in before the rain. It sure did look stormy.
That bible verse is an excellent one

What a peaceful and touching story about the little fawn—nature has a gentle way of surprising us when we least expect it. Your day sounds full but calm, and those homemade pizzas must be a real comfort. I just shared a new travel post. I am excited for you to read it. Thank you. Happy weekend.

I sure hope that little deer makes it♥ We're having pretty days too except for the heat. Already having temps in the mid 90's...and we're just getting started. Fortunately for us there is usually a breeze from the bay which is only a few blocks from our home.

I missed this post yesterday. That gravestone is a sad one, because the person that is buried there was a young man when he passed. Hopefully, he knew Jesus. That little fawn is so sweet. Glad his mama is taking care of him!
