Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady

 No rain today, just cloudy.
55 degrees with a slight breeze.
Walked around both of the cemeteries first.
Saw a sign down by the Drane house so went down there to see what it said.

From there I walked through town over to and around the industrial park.
Back through town and to the Jeep.

Saw the first blooming tree of spring.
Anise Magnolia

Another quiet early morning in town.
I'm really surprised I haven't seen people out walking!
Weather nice and it's not dark.

☁️    🙂    ☁️

Only three of us at the library again for Needleworks.

I started reading a book
The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady
by Sharon J. Mondragon

It's about 4 women who meet each week to knit prayer shawls.
At the back of the book is a pattern to make one.
I started knitting that this morning at the library.

Mia, the librarian thought we all would like the book so ordered it for the library.
Mikie read it and liked it and so far I like it too.
Jalene is next on the list to read it.

Knitted a bit more on the shawl when I got home but messed it up
somehow and had to rip the whole thing out.
Will try again another day.

That's it for today.
Hope your Saturday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.
🙂HappyK❤️

Eileen - That wasn't forsythia in yesterdays picture.  It is dead ornamental grass.  Must be the lighting in the picture to make it look like that.

Congratulations to the Drane house in getting some preservation funding as a historical home! I’m sure they must have many maintenance needs.

Hi Karen! I'm glad that the Drane House is having some restoration done, even though there are so many cutbacks in Government funding right now. That book sounds quite interesting. Hope you had another nice day. See you again soon!

How thoughtful of the librarian to order this book for your group of knitters. It sounds perfect for you; makes me want to read it too.

You didn't see many people out walking and we had just the opposite here. Maybe because it was such a beautiful sunny morning there were lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.
I would not like unravelling my knitting and starting over.

That magnolia is so pretty.
That's awesome that they will be working on restoration at the Drane house
I've had crochet projects where I messed up and had to rip it all back out. Frustrating.

Hello,
The blooming tree is beautiful. It is great to see the Drane House will be well cared for during the restoration project.
Take care, have a great day and happy week ahead.

Spring is starting to arrive here in Michigan. My neighbors Forsithia is blooming and I saw my tulips popping up now. YAY Too bad about you having to rip out your knitting. I hate when that happens when either crocheting or stitching. Means I am getting too tired. Janice

One of my favorite Scriptures is Psalm 16:5. Thank you for sharing these verses each day, Karen. They are beautifully displayed and a blessing to those of us who read them. xx

very surprised that with all the DOGE cuts there is any money for these improvements.
