The State Police come to our town every year for training
with the dogs.
Last year I got to help them.
If you want to read about it click
HERE.
🚔 🐕 🚔
A cloudy morning for walking, 55 degrees, and no wind.
I walked around both of the cemeteries and was walking around
the ball park loop when I noticed another walker.
Looking closer I saw that it was David.🙂
We walked around the ball park together and then up and down
the road behind the DG Market.
Then back to the Jeep.
His Jeep was parked right next to mine.
I left for home and he continued his walk.
Nice walking with David once in a while but we both prefer to walk alone.
🥾 ☁️ 🥾
Sun came out when I got home from walking.
Got a load of laundry hung out on the line and then had a
busy morning in the kitchen.
I got a crock pot of chili started for tonights supper.
Then I baked cookies that I've never made before called
Alfajores and are from South America.
They are a sandwich cookie.
I just made the cookie part today and will put them
together with the filling on Saturday.
I was asked to make them for church.
We are having missionaries at our church all this week and on Sunday
we will have an international dinner.
The recipe calls for 9 egg yolks and 3 1/3 cups of cornstarch.
Thought the cornstarch was a bit strange.
Tasted the cookie part and they are very bland.
Maybe the filling will make them better.
LOTS of work to make.
I get a kick out of the recipe saying preparation time is 30 minutes.
It took me more than an hour!!!
I'll post a picture of the cookies when the filling as been added and
a link to the recipe.
Not putting it on my recipe blog because I won't be making them again.
I made quite a mess in the kitchen and didn't get to clean it up
until after lunch.
Then I went outside and finished putting rocks in the dry run.
Then once again it was sitting on the porch time.
Hope you had a great Wednesday
and thanks for stopping by.

...yellow rocketcress seems to be everywhere this spring.
Hi Karen. Those cookies sound interesting. It's nice that you could take a walk with David. Josh likes to walk with me, and I enjoy it. Did you help the police with their training again this year? Have a good Thursday. See you then!
The International Dinner at your church sounds like fun! Good for you for sticking with the job of making those cookies. Looking forward to seeing pictures!
The cornstarch does seem to be a bit extensive.
I have never heard of this kind of cookie, and they sound awful to make! I read your police dog participation, and do not remember reading it when it was posted! I really enjoyed it, as we watch a T.V. series called "Dog Detectives" I must have been on a shirt blog break when you posted it.
Hold it! I went back to your police dog post and looked at the comments. I actually commented!! Gosh, my memory is not that great anymore, and I am not used to that.
It will be interesting to see the cookies when you've filled them.
The yellow rocket-cress looks nice.
All the best Jan
That's fun that the other walker was David. Well not every recipe is a winner or a keeper. We are having a Missionary conference this weekend at church with a Missionary speaker on Sunday.
Those cookies do sound strange with all of that cornstarch!
I made some cookies at Christmas that had a lot of cornstarch and we weren't impressed with them either.
I love a crock pot dinner.
You're always so busy. Such energy. Those cookies sound delicious.
God bless.
That much cornstarch sounds like those cookies will be bland. Not sure if I would attempt to make them. Janice
Never heard of those cookies before. Hope they taste better with the filling.
Buena aminata y después a hacer una suculenta comida. Has sabido ocupar bien el día.
It is nice you were able to walk with David. The cookies sound interesting. The chili sounds yummy to me. Take care, enjoy your day!
The cookies sound interesting. I love chilly too. Have a nice month of May.
I looked that particular cookie up. I can’t wait to see your photo and the recipe. Your ingredients must have made a lot of cookies!
