Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cookie Art

Nice to get back to walking after missing a day.
It was a rainy windy morning for walking and 47 degrees.
Was a light rain so it was nice.
Sunrise 6:43
Morning Walk Steps 11,401

I'm still liking my workmen's raincoat.
Nice to be able to put it over layers and it keeps me dry.

Walked around both of the cemeteries first.
Farmer Marvin put some bulls in the field behind the cemetery.

The ice on the town pond is just about gone, just a little
left at one end.

Next I walked over to the ball park and around there.
Then up and down the main road and some side streets.

There was a man looking at the white house for sale by the pond.
He was there with a guy from The Floor Store.
The for sale sign is still up but I'm thinking maybe it was sold.
My guess about the Floor Store guy was that they were going to
turn the garage in to a room in the house.
Will have to see.

No others out walking yet.
I've missed all the regular walkers!!

🌧    ☔️    🙂

A pancake breakfast today with strawberries.

Stayed home all day.
Worked in the morning.
Afternoon
Read
Knitted
Started another puzzle

A package arrived in the mail for me containing a dozen cookies.
Not just any cookies, these are little works of art.
An old blogger friend Karen, who doesn't blog anymore
but still reads mine made these.
Aren't they amazing!!
When Ken saw them he said,
"Are you going to eat these, they are too nice to eat."

Though they do look too nice to eat I'm going to eat them because
they not only are perfectly made, they are delicious.
I can't thank you enough Karen.
I LOVE THEM

Yesterday afternoon Ken was helping David load a refrigerator
into the truck and strained his right forearm of all things so today
his arm is pretty sore.
I'm thinking at least it wasn't his back!

Well that's going to be it for the day.
Hope you had a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.
🙂HappyK❤️

I’m glad to hear you’re still enjoying your walks and your workmen’s raincoat – it seems perfect for those light rainy days, keeping you warm and dry. It must be nice to get back into your routine, especially with the morning walk giving you those 11,401 steps! I love how you describe the scenery around your walks, from the cemeteries to the ball park, and even the changes with the ice melting on the town pond. It's always nice to see little signs of spring and life returning after the winter.

The pancake breakfast with strawberries sounds absolutely delightful! I can totally imagine how cozy it must have felt to settle in for a quiet day of work, reading, and knitting afterward. And wow, a package of cookies as a surprise gift – that’s such a thoughtful and sweet gesture from your old blogger friend Karen! It’s clear you’re appreciated, and those cookies sound like a perfect treat. Sometimes the prettiest things are too nice to eat, but I’m glad you’re enjoying them.

It sounds like a peaceful day full of simple pleasures. Hope the rest of the week treats you well!

Hi, wishing you a great Wednesday: I just shared a new post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/

...looking out my window I still see patches of snow. When I filled the bird feeders this afternoon I saw daffodils poking up. Winter isn't over, but spring is coming, it always does.

Hi Karen. Those are such beautiful cookies. So nice of your old blog friend to send them. It's good to see the bulls back in the field. That means spring is on the way! I hope that Ken's arm feels better soon. See you again soon.

Those cookies are so cute. Nice of your friend to send them ( and none were even damaged in the mail!!)
Sorry about Ken's arm; I hope it doesn't take long until it feels better.
