Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Bedford and a late afternoon walk

The snow didn't amount to anything last night but it was only 16 degrees and very windy and I didn't go walking this morning.

We left this morning with the trailer load of Roman's books and drove to Bedford, Pa.
Unloaded the trailer and loaded it up again with the next bunch of scriptures to put together.
The drive usually takes us 1 1/2 hours or so but today we got there in 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Traffic was great, didn't get behind any slow trucks and there was no construction along the way!!

As usual we stopped for lunch at the Wendy's in Bedford and got our Spicy Chicken sandwiches.

We brought the trailer load right to church before coming home.

Before we left this morning I cleaned out the corner in the living room by the windows and put up our little Christmas tree.
No decorations on it yet but will do that and the rest of the Christmas decorating tomorrow.
Don't do a lot any more so it should take that long.

We got home about 3:00 and though it was still a bit windy and 25 degrees the sun was shining so I went to town and took my walk then.
Nice having the whole walk in the light and sunshine for a change.

I walked up and down some side streets, around both of the cemeteries and the ball park too.

Thought I'd see some people out walking at this time of day but didn't see anyone.

Instead of seeing school buses picking up kids I saw them bringing them home again.
And instead of watching the sun rise I saw it on the way down.

Don't know exactly how many steps I took because I forgot to look before I started walking but it must have been a bit over 10,000.

Sunset was 4:53

This evening I hope to get some reading done and make some weave-its.
Have to finish the baby blanket by next Thursday.

Hope you enjoyed your Thursday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Debby - Here is a picture of the model that Ken made.
Small pictures in the corners are pictures of the mansion.
Big picture is the model he made.

...the view of the pond is wonderful. We haven't seen a blue sky in a while, perhaps tomorrow.

It must have felt very different to walk at that time. Nice to see the sunshine. Here it's been snowing since yesterday, 14 degrees and everything is closed.
The model Ken made is so good! It looks real!

Hi Karen. Charly and I like Wendy's too - every now and then. We like the Salted Carmel Frosty. I love that model mansion Ken built for his railroad set up. Glad you had a good day and a nice trip to Bedford. See you again tomorrow.

It still looks like a chilly walk, but probably not bad when you keep moving. I don't usually think this way any more, but if I was still working, I probably wouldn't have been pruning today...would have been too cold. Oh, I might have went in and worked a while...but I bet not all day.

I meant to say that model is wonderful.

Beautiful. Now that she’s gone that model is even more precious- might even be worth something to a Chico collector. The hotel in Chico you mentioned was probably the historic Diamond hotel.
Thanks for going to the trouble in posting the photo. Appreciate it! 👍🏻

Wow! That mansion that Ken made looks amazing. ( So does the real thing. I'd love to tour it.)

The blues in your first walking photo are beautiful. You had a full day for sure. It makes me tired just reading about it!

You might have confused some folks in town with your afternoon walk! :) Sounds like a good day.
