Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wasp Nest

41 degrees and cloudy as I walked around town this morning.
Just a little breeze.
Sunrise 6:58
Morning Walk Steps 10,169

Saw John walking Prim and Rebecca walking Leo.

You might remember the two little houses, one white and one black, that were built a while ago in town.
Carmen lives in the white one.
Looks like the black one was finally sold.
For Sign gone and looks like some work being done around the house getting it ready for the people to move in.

I walked over to the ball park first and around it.
Then to the DG Market, turned around in the parking lot and back through town.
Continued down the road towards home a ways, back to town and around the one cemetery.

Noticed a few people around town have put up some of their Christmas decorations.
Way too early for me!!!

Spotted this wasp nest up in the old apple tree.

☁️    🙂    🦃

Did a load of laundry and got that hung out on the line
and a few other house chores done.

Did a bit of knitting this afternoon on the bed spread I'm making.

We went to town and picked up a couple of books and a DVD from the library.
Got some gas while in town too.

Supper this evening was shrimp and fried rice.

Looking forward to my ice cream later.
Chocolate Chip Mint.

That's all I have for today.
Hope you had a happy Tuesday and thanks for stopping by.

...I love the farm peeking through the hedgerow. Lots of barns here are now coming back into view as the trees drop their leaves.

That is a big hornet's nest! I always love seeing them and I don't know why.

That looks quite a big nest!

Interesting you say some folks have started putting their Christmas Decorations up because when I was out earlier today I noticed the same thing. It's a little early for me but it is nice to see them especially the lights :)

All the best Jan

Hi Karen. Wow, that is a big wasp nest. We had one like that in a tree in our house in Illinois when we lived there some years back. I will probably put up some Christmas decorations in a week or two. I hope things are going well for you. See you again soon!

We are seeing a lot of Christmas decorations out already and it makes me a little sad. Thanksgiving seems to get noticed less and less every year.

Wow...that nest is certainly high up in the tree. I hope that the snow doesn't get that high this winter. lol

Your supper tonight sounds delicious!

You see some pretty interesting things on your walks! That is some wasp's nest! And yes, too early for Christmas decorations in my opinion.

I always peek into people's livingrooms when I walk by and I've noticed 2 or 3 have their trees up and lit up. It looks so cheery that I can't make myself think it's too early. With darkness falling by 5 o'clock any lights are welcome.

I've seen some houses with Christmas lights up and turned on. Too early for me as well.
Mint chocolate chip ice cream was my favorite for years until they started making peanut butter cup chocolate.

Dinner sounded yummy. Would not want to tangle up in that wasps nest. YIKES. Janice

I have never put up outside Christmas decorations this early but I am thinking of doing it this year before it gets bitterly cold. We'll see. Love that you are so faithful in your walking. I am getting about 3 miles a day in by walking the pups. xo Diana

That is quite the wasp nest. I haven't seen any around our property. Sounds like a good day.

Yum I like mint chocolate chip too! That’s a big wasp nest. We get them here in the yard. The wasps can be a nuisance.
Too early for Christmas decorations for me too!

Hope the wind doesn't blow the nest down. It looks big an heavy. You can see Christmas decorations up when you go to the bigger towns. Mainly they are businesses doing their advertising.

WoW, that's a BIG nest, sure wouldn't want to get them stirred up. I'm still waiting for cold temps, but I know in will most likely be January before we get in the 40's. I don't put up Christmas until after Thanksgiving, although for the first time in a while I'm anxious to set in out this year.

It's too early for Christmas decorating for me too. After our wedding sometime will be just fine 😀
