Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking, Stitching, and Baking

No rain this morning but a chilly start at 33 degrees.
Dark but clear and then sun and clouds.

The three ponds near each other all had mist above them and together formed a low cloud.

Sunrise was 7:47

Walked all around town up and down all the streets, then around the cemetery on the hill.
Then all around town again.

No one else around town that I saw.

Tonight with the clocks changing back to the normal time I'll be walking when it's light out in the morning!!!!

Went to the library to meet the stitching ladies this morning.
A new woman joined us and her name is Pat.
This morning there were 6 of us there but our little group has grown to 10 of us.
I made some weave-it squares this morning - need to get a baby blanket done.

While at the library I picked up another book that I had reserved, The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams.
I've been wanting to read it for a while.
I'll get started on it later this evening.

Tomorrow is Ken's birthday and this afternoon I baked a cheese cake which is his favorite and most years that's the kind he asks for.
I use a spring form pan and this time some liquid leaked out of the pan and made a bit of a mess on the bottom of the oven and smoked up the house.
This happened another time too and I bought a more expensive pan thinking that was the problem but it appears that is not so.
I put tin foil on the bottom of the oven but it just ran off.
Maybe next time I'll wrap the whole pan in tin foil.

Tomorrow David and Liz will come by in the afternoon when we get back from church to help us eat it.

That's all I have for this Saturday.
Hope yours was a great one and thanks so much for coming by.

I love the misty picture!
I'm glad for a lighter morning, but not ready for it to get dark so early at night...
I've had that trouble with cheesecake too. Such a mess! I've started putting a piece of foil under the pan and folding it up around the edges.
Happy Birthday to Ken tomorrow!

What a beautiful picture! Our morning low was 56 degrees; just perfect for walking. I'll be adding another layer at 33 degrees. Cheese cake is also my favorite.

Happy birthday to Ken...tomorrow is my birthday, too, not that I am saying anything on my blog. I am so glad to see the time go back to normal....I will really feel like I have slept in in the morning.

Hi Happy Birthday to Ken! I know that you will all enjoy eating the birthday cheesecake tomorrow. I like having more light in the morning, but I don't enjoy the early darkness in the evening. Your knitting group sounds like fun. I would like to find a group like that, but I would have to learn to knit! Have a great Sunday. See you then!

Happy Birthday to Ken!! I hope he enjoys the cheesecake ( sorry about the pan leaking though). I baked a pie today and was wondering if it would run over so I put a cookie sheet on the rack below. Sure enough there were some spots.
I like to compare your sunrise and ours. Ours was 11 minutes later than yours. With the time change will ours be 6:58 tomorrow instead of 7:58? I get so mixed up with the time change.

Wrapped in heavy-duty foil would work. Or a water bath?
