Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Milk Bottle Monday

 Happy Monday Everyone๐Ÿ™‚
It's gets darker by a minute or two every morning when I start walking.
Sunrise was 7:34 and got to town at 6:30 so most of my walk is in the dark at this time of year.
Was nice to see the sun come over the mountain so got to walk a little bit in the sun.
The temperature was 41 degrees and no wind.

Headed over to the library first thing to drop a book down the slot.
Then walked to the industrial park and walked all around in there.

Continued back through town and around both of the cemeteries.
A grave was dug at the lower cemetery - took a picture of the hole but it seemed a bit creepy to post.

Some geese flew over head while I was at the cemetery.

Didn't see any of the regulars out walking but did see a young couple taking a leisurely walk.  I said good morning when passing but they just looked at me and didn't say anything.  Maybe they were visiting someone in town.  It is very odd when people don't respond.

Here's another happy little ghost surrounded by some happy pumpkins.

Morning spent getting some housework done.

Too nice to stay inside so after lunch went outside and collected more rocks and put them in the dry brook I'm making.
Also picked up some more deadfall out front for my fences.

Since the Peeps have moved on I thought on Monday's I'd show you my milk bottle collection showing one each Monday.
I've collected them over the years in many different places.

Milk Bottle Monday #1
Quart Size
Hard to find a good spot to take the picture out of the glare and to be able to see both sides.
Next week I think I'll fill the bottle with something.

Thanks for visiting and a special thanks to all who take the time to leave a comment.
That always makes me happy.

My son David is in Hawaii this month visiting his kids.
He sent me this picture of him and his son.

...a friend of mine collects milk bottles and fills them with fine styrofoam pellets.

I'm guessing the young couple probably wasn't from your area because most people I have met in your area are friendly. But it does feel odd when someone doesn't respond.

I will look forward to seeing your milk bottle collection. I sent mine to Maine when our son and daughter -in-law were here. I hadn't put mine on display for a couple of years now, so I thought it was time for someone else to enjoy them. They all had a story behind them with the exception of one.

Yeah it is strange when you say hi to someone on a walk and they just ignore you. I could never do that. At the very least they could have flashed a smile ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I’ve already seen in inside of a freshly dug grave when we were burying Pops. If you let your imagination get the better of you, yeah it can be creepy.

I used to have some milk bottles but ended up donating them. I like the logo on yours. I think mine were all plain.

I'm noticing how much darker it is in the morning too.
You got a great shot of the geese!
I don't understand why people wouldn't respond with a hi back to you. Very odd.
My husbands Dad owned a dairy when the kids were young. We have one old bottle from that dairy and have collected a few more to go with it. I'll enjoy seeing yours!

I have never heard of collecting milk bottles, so this will be interesting! These deep red trees are almost glowing! What sourpusses to not even give you a hello! The geese are flying in their V shape! I love hearing them honk when they fly.

Stunningly beautiful picture of Hawaii - and it is made even more special knowing that your son is in that picture.

The trees are glorious. My mom had a milk bottle an somewhere she found a metal lid that I cannot even describe to you...it had come from a bank of some sort...it was in two parts with a slot cut. one side was hinged, and the other you pushed together and put a little lock through. She saved dimes in it.
