Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Digging up a body

A nice sunny walk in town this morning.
44 degrees and no wind.

The fountain in the pond wasn't turned on and the water
was like glass, perfect for a reflection.

Walked to the library first to drop off a couple of books
down the slot.

Then walked down the road towards home a ways, back to town,
around both of the cemeteries and the ball park
and up and down the side streets.

The chickens were scattered all over their yard and when I talked
to them they all came running over to see if I had anything for them.
So funny to watch them run.
I always ask them if they laid an egg yet today.

Back to school today so saw all the school buses once again

Rebecca was out walking with Leo and ran in her a few
different times around down.

While I was at the cemetery a truck came up with a digger
on a trailer and another man in a truck.
The next loop I made they were unloading the machine.
I said looks like someone died.
They said not this time, we are digging one up.
I at first thought foul play and the body was to be exhumed.
They told me the body was to be moved and taken to North Carolina.
I guess I watch and read too many detective stories.

I finally got around to straightening up our office and got
all the unwanted stuff out of the corner.
Found new places for everything!!

Then I spent a little time working on the cross stitch
and then read till supper time.
Pasta, sauce, and garlic bread was supper tonight.

Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for visiting.

...and here I thought that your town had a grave robber.

That reflection in the pond is so pretty...and I enjoyed seeing pictures of the colorful leaves. Won't be long now! :)

I had to chuckle at your comment about watching and reading too many detective stories because I like to watch Murder, She Wrote with Angela Lansbury on television...so my thoughts seem to run along those lines, too. :) :)

Supper sounds delicious!

That is the first thing I would have thought if, too. We watch way too many true crime shows! The reflection is so clear and sharp!

I would have thought the same thing. They need to dig someone up for DNA testing or some other forensic test.

I did not know that bodies could be dug up and moved to different cemeteries. That's a new one for me. lad is was not being dug up for other reasons though. but thats usually why they would. Janice

Such interesting walks you take! I'm disappointed that I never see anyone exhuming a body on my walks! (grin) I do envy your scenic walking path though. Have a great day!

I Would guess digging a body up is not something they are called to do very often! The pond looks so nice!

Yes, the title of this post had me thinking that you and Ken were doing something nefarious! ;-)

Beautiful reflection in the water!!
If you started taking a few crumbs or something like that along for the hens pretty soon they would come running when they saw you.

That is so interesting that someone would go to the expense to move a dead body. I'm with you on going right to a murder mystery!!

Digging up a body just to move it seems not really the thing to do.
