Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

African Violet

64 degrees and mostly cloudy but did see a few peeks of sunshine
and felt a gentle breeze.
Sunrise is after 6 now at 6:06

On my drive to town just down the road I saw 4 deer and a groundhog.

First walked back down the road I just drove up a ways before
tuning around and walking back to town.

I saw 2 more deer cross the road and then a truck stopped to
let a doe and fawn cross the road.

I was just getting back to town and saw sheila drove by in her
car on her way to town.

Passed up the parking lot and continued walking through town
and walked around the industrial park.

Still had a little more walking to do so went around the ball park.

When I got back to the pond I walked out on the walkway and
stood by the railing.
There was a nice breeze and I almost felt like I was standing
on the bow of a boat.

It was a blueberry pancake breakfast morning.

Stitching morning at the library.
Only 3 of us today.

The librarian Connie gave me this African Violet today.
Isn't it pretty.
She said she had lots of them and asked if I wanted one.
I have it sitting in the window above the kitchen sink.

When I walked up to Jalene's house to get the
zucchini and squash the other week there was a man doing some work in the yard.
After I left the man said to her.
So that's the town walker, I see her walking in all kinds of weather.
I come to find out that is what all the people in town call me.🙂

Not much got done around here this afternoon.
I'm on a roll with the counted cross stitch so did that most of the afternoon.
I have to take breaks every so often to give me eyes a rest though.

Happy Saturday
Thanks for popping in for a visit
happyone🙂

That is so cool that all the people in town call you the “town walker.” What’s even cooler is that those of us who got lucky to find you in the blogosphere get your thoughts on what you see out there. This, to me, is one of the joys of blogging. Thanks, Karen, for sharing. John

Our sun rose at 5:26 this morning. It's another very warm day but we got our walk in early, before the temperature rose too much.
Pretty African Violet. I think I have that colour too.

And you are well deserving of the nickname! Are these unusual purple and white flowers petunias? I continue to be amazed at the different patterns they can come up with. You'll have to keep us posted on the African Violet. I have heard they are the hardest to grow, and also the easiest!

I am really noticing the shorter days in the morning..I really miss early morning sun. I don't notice the evenings getting shorter though...not until it starts getting dark really early. Sounds like you are doing great on your cross stitch.

My mom use to have violets everywhere in her house. All colors. Now she just keeps one aloe plant in case she needs it. I am not the plant lady. They would die in my house, but they are pretty. So you have a nickname now. Guess being the town walker is not so bad. At least folks are paying attention to their neighborhood. Janice
