Sunrise 6:03
Was walking in town at 6:25.
It was 55 degrees and at first just cloudy and then a light misty
drizzle once in a while.
Not enough to get me wet, just slightly damp.
Morning Walk Steps

My usual walk around town, the cemeteries and the ball park.
Even less traffic because there was no school today.
All the bulls are gone from the barn down here by the Drane house.
(to the left of barn)
Some sold, others out in the pasture.
Drane house
Another house for sale.
This one just outside of town on the main road.
A building going up here.
I thought at first it might be a house but more likely it will be a garage.
John was also out this morning walking Prim.
☁️ 🌧 🙂
No outside work today because of the rain.
Didn't go food shopping like we usually do on Tuesday either.
Will probably do that tomorrow.
I finished knitting the baby blanket with the stripping bulky yarn.
You can see it HERE.
The other day I finished reading
Grandma Gatewood's Walk by Ben Montgomery.
Emma Gatewood at 67 was the first woman to walk the Appalachian Trail
alone back in 1955.
I thought it was a great and inspirational book.
You don't have to like to walk to enjoy it.
Ken is reading it now and likes it too.
Supper tonight was chicken tenders and baked potatoes.
That's going to be it for today.
A happy day to you and thanks for stopping by.

GrannyM - Most days I do have ice cream for my snack but not yesterday. I made an angel food cake and had a piece of that cut in cubes with chocolate pudding on top, topped off with Redi Whip. Yummy, it was delicious.
Debbie - At the end of my posts on the left you will see two numbers. The first is my total steps for the day and the second is the total so far for the year. I write the numbers from the previous day in the morning. As of yesterday my average daily steps are 17,414. As of right now my step count for today is 17,854.

Hello! I am always amazed...and inspired...by your beautiful morning pictures. I am quite glad you are continuing to blog, my friend!
I am also glad you are continuing to blog, Karen. I like your posts!
...the Drane House is a beauty.
Now I want chicken tenders and a baked potato!! You always have the best food. I am SO glad you are posting now!!! This is a nice ranch house for sale. The stripes on the blanket turned out perfectly, so straight!!
I always enjoy seeing the Drane house. The house for sale looks like a nice one.
I saw your comment to Debbie on your steps. Great idea and will be interesting for me to see those numbers
Your step count is amazing, I think it's great. I like seeing what you see on your walks, kinda makes me feel like I walked with you.
First of all Jeepers on the tornado. We also had one but it was 10 minutes away from us. Grandma Gatewood is an inspiration to all. I have never heard of her, but she must have been an amazing woman to accomplish walking the trail at her age. I know I could not do it. Janice
Wonderful walking pictures. We have had a lot of rain here this spring and it is cold and damp. I am ready for some sunshiny warm days!
Love that old log house!
You are doing great with your steps. I walk every day but only between 3 and 5 miles depending on hubby and what is going on with him. xo Diana
I have seen that book and thought it might be good. Sounds like you had a rainy day about like here....
Hi Karen. That house that is for sale in your town looks like a nice big one. Are houses in your town expensive. I think that houses everywhere are too expensive. That book you are reading sounds good. I will have to see if the library here has it. I have always wanted to hike, at least a little ways, on the Appalachian Trail. Maybe someday! So glad you are back in blogland! I hope you have a good Wednesday. See you then.
That is nice that you can walk in such a beautiful place. I live in the city, and I am not really motivated unless I go to the gym. I have gone back to reading and am on the last book of the Left Behind Series. I see that GWTW is one of your favorite books. It is one of mine too! I want to read it this year. I also want to read The Source. Nice to meet you!
That house for sale looks like a nice one. I love chicken tenders.
That sounds like a really good book. I enjoy reading about people who achieve great accomplishments in their lifetimes. I'll have to be on the lookout for that one.
That does sound like an interesting book. That is quite the accomplishment especially the 'alone' part! As usual I'm a day behind reading your posts. Usually I do all my bloggy type stuff in the morning. Happy afternoon to you!
Angel Food Cake with Chocolate pudding and topping sounds so GOOD. I should make that again soon.
I had never noticed those 2 numbers at the left bottom of your post. I'm glad you brought those to my attention.
Yes, I read the Grandma Gatewood book year’s ago. It was excellent!!
Pleased you and Ken enjoyed Grandmas Gatewood's Walk.
All the best Jan
