Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Misty Fog

Today my walk was a misty foggy one.
45 degrees and calm.
Didn't bother to wear rain gear because it was supposed to clear up.
It never did so by the end of my walk I was a bit damp.
Got to town and started walking at 6:30 and the sun rose not
long after at 6:39.

Walked all over town up and down all the side roads.
Then around the ball park loop and both of the cemeteries.

I saw a woman I haven't seen before walking around the ball park.
Maybe she will become a regular.

KitKat was out and came over to say hi and to get a pet.
He was pretty wet.

A few pictures along my walk.

This morning I put some chicken in the slow cooker for shredding.
Supper tonight will be chicken burritos.
Made rice for lunch to go with some vegetables and sweet/sour sauce.
Baked and iced a carrot cake.
And then cleaned up the kitchen.
Did a few household chores and then it was lunch time.

Nice to get things I need to get done in the morning
which leaves the afternoon for fun things.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Thursday

I will not wish thee riches,
nor the glow of greatness,
but that wherever thou go
some weary heart shall gladden at thy smile
or shadowed life know sunshine for a while.
And so thy path shall be a track of light
like angels footsteps passing through the night.

LOVE the poem! And what a great photo of KitKat! I love his beautiful fluffy tail. He looks just like our Simba, except Sim had short fur. Can you tell I'm a cat lover? But not a crazy cat lady YET.

You had a busy time in the kitchen this morning. Your carrot cake sounds delicious! Do you have the recipe on your recipe blog for it?

I enjoyed the poem at the end today.

KitKat is looking healthy!
You got a lot done in the kitchen this morning. It's always nice to put that chicken in the crockpot and have it ready for shredding.
I like that poem.

I was thinking it must have been cold out there by the end of the walk if you were wet. Then I thought all that walking probably kept you warm. Nice of KitKat to greet you. He's a handsome one.

Chicken burritos and carrot cake sound yummy. I made a Mexican chicken chili yesterday and we had margaritas with it. Those were our dessert. LOL Janice
