Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Pink Peep

Drove to town and started walking at 6:30.
I counted 9 deer on my way to town.
It was a rainy walk and 42 degrees.
Windy too and not so pleasant with the cold rain hitting
my face and eventually running down my neck.
Sunrise 6:36

Walked up and down the side streets in town and around the
ball park loop a few times.

As you might expect I didn't see anyone else out and very few cars.

It rained harder as time went on and soon my feet were wet too.
It was then I decided to cut my walk short.

I made us French toast (fried bread) for breakfast.
When I broke the eggs I saw that one of the eggs was a double yolk.
Can't remember the last time I had one of those.

Gathered my knitting stuff together and headed out again.
This time to the library for a morning of stitching.
4 of us were there today.
I started knitting another scrubby dish cloth.
Easy to knit that so I don't have to do any counting and can talk while I knit.

Though it was nice to learn how to make the crochet granny square,
I prefer knitting so will stick with that.

Sally crocheted these cute little peeps and since I liked it so much
she gave me this one. 😀
Isn't it adorable.

We were talking about old movies and a couple of the ladies
said they thought The Quiet Man with John Wayne was very good.
I found it on the shelf in the library and we are going
to watch it tonight.

Knitted this afternoon an also spent some time reading.

When we both don't know what we want for supper and
don't feel like cooking we have what we call a 'fend night'
and we each just find something to eat.
I decided to make pancakes for my supper.
I'm off to make them in just a little while.
Maybe I'll even add some mini chocolate chips to the batter.
Ken is still deciding what he will have.

It's been raining all day and supposedly a bit of snow is
on the way for tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Saturday.

Dianna - No recipe for the carrot cake I made the other day.  It was from a box mix.

Tom - Yes, you were right.  Garbage cans are in there to keep out the bears.

The quiet man is very good, not a JW fan, hope you enjoy this one. Cute peep! Rained in my neighborhood today. I'm not a fan of the wind at all.

It was a dreary day here with some rain, and now it's snowing!
The little peep is adorable!
I think an occasional fend night is a good plan.

We had a lovely, sunny day here. So glad you had a good day in spite of the rain. I haven't ever seen The Quiet Man. Maybe I will look that one up and see if our library has it. See you again tomorrow!

That cute little pink peep is SO CUTE! Makes me smile. Would you believe that I was going through some old magazines today and lo and behold, there was a recipe for carrot cake! 🍰

I love French toast. I was just thinking about making some the other day.
That crocheted peep is adorable. I tried once to make something like that but I got too confused and gave up. I'm better at just crocheting things like blankets or scarves.

Hello,
It rained all day yesterday, a very wet day.
I love french toast, I have not made it for myself in a long time.
The peep is so cute! Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week ahead.

I like your crochet peep. I don't like the candy ones. The Quiet Man is a good movie and has been a Patty's Day favorite since I was in high school. I hope you enjoy it!

I think I can count on one hand the number of double yolk eggs I've had in the last fifty years! When neither of us is in the mood to fix dinner we declare it to be a "Merle Night". Merle is my aunt's husband and he's said more than once that a jar of peanut butter and a spoon is a perfect dinner!

I think Ken's train layout, even though I've never seen it in person, influenced my expectations at the museum.
