Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cold and sunny

A cold morning with a temperature of 2 degrees so no walking in town yet.
The sidewalks and side streets are a mess in town.
It may be awhile till I can walk there again.
I've still been getting all my steps in each day in the house.
It was another windy day but at least the sun was shining.

We made the trip to Walmart to get a new battery for the tractor.
While there we finally got our food shopping done.
We hadn't been food shipping in two weeks so we spent a small fortune this week.

I put the groceries away when we got home and Ken installed the
new battery in the tractor so now we are ready for the next snow fall.

Sewed a couple more rows onto the baby blanket and will finish
that up this evening.

One of my favorite meals for supper tonight.
Roasted Vegetables and Sausage
It's in the oven right now and it smells delicious.
The vegetables I used this time are potatoes, an onion, carrot, red pepper,
parsnip, and a turnip.

Todays Fiestaware two pieces are called comports.
These are the only colors I have.
Small yellow one is called a Sweets Comport and is just 3 1/2" tall.
The green comport is 12" in diameter.
I use it as a fruit bowl.

That's all for today.
Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.

Ken plans on posting a train picture or video from his train layout
every day or two.
Hope you check it out.

Ginny - I live in north western Maryland in Garrett County, the farthest north and west you can get and still be in the state. Sometimes we don't even feel like we are part of Maryland. 🙂 Our weather is so different from the rest of the state!!

Deb - We do the jigsaw puzzles on the dining room table.  We have a table in the kitchen we can eat on.  Sometimes if we're near finishing the puzzle we just push it aside and have even put a table cloth over the puzzle.

Mari - The Fiestaware dishes are the only dishes we have and use them every day, so they are just in the kitchen cabinets.  On my hutch I will usually change the dishes around with the different colors.  Right now I have the red and yellow pieces on it.

I really like that green comport. What exactly are they to be used for? Good idea to use for a fruit dish.

Your supper sounds yummy! And I like that you use the green comport for fruit. Ideal size for that!

Still a mess here too but I'm going to try to get out and get some groceries tomorrow. Glad the tractor is ready for the next snowfall.
I need to make sausage and veggies again. The last time you mentioned it, I made it, now you've brought it to my mind again.
I really like those comports. I've never seen them before either!
How fun to change your fiesta ware out in the hutch!

The dish called a comport is a new one to me. The green one makes a great fruit bowl. I like that you use your Fiestaware every day.

We have another snowstorm coming on Thursday night. I love these comports! I have never seen any, nor have I heard of the name. They are adorable!

P.S. I lived in Maryland for about 7 years. Our post office address was Hyattsville, and I travelled back and forth to work in D.C.

Your dinner does sound very good. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures and videos of Ken's train layouts. Yes, food has really gone up. We have had a couple of grocery bills that really took my breath away! I hope you have a good Thursday.

It's been very cold here too and now they're predicting snow. I'm hoping they are wrong again.

It's too cold and icy to walk outside here, too. I get some steps in but not my usual mileage. I hope it warms up for you soon. xo Diana

That's a new word for me, comport. They are lovely pieces. We are at 6 degrees right now. We started the morning at 1 degree. Can't last long out doors for sure. Glad you could pick up that new battery for the tractor!
