Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cutting down the corn

A cool crisp fall morning for walking.
38 degrees and once the sun rose at 7:21 there was a mix of sun and clouds.
Starting walking around town at 6:30.
Morning Walk Steps were 13,774

Walked over to the library first to drop a couple of DVD's down the drop.
Continued walking down the three streets in town, both the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

At the library there were 4 people in their cars sitting there with engines running.
It was just 6:35 and seemed a bit odd for so early in the morning.
The library doesn't open till 11:00.
When I went past later all the cars were still there but no people.
I would say they all met there and went somewhere together but the little library parking lot seemed liked an unlikely place to park especially right up by the door.
People usually meet up at the parking lot by the pond.

The cutting down of the corn has begun.

Didn't encounter anyone else out walking this morning.
Maybe they were waiting till later.

Some mushrooms I spotted walking along.

A road worker was out marking some lines along the side of the road and into the grass with a can of paint spray.

That was my exciting walk around town. ๐Ÿ˜€

Most of today was spent cleaning the house.
Got most everything done!!

A day of sun and clouds and one little rain shower in the early afternoon.
I had the sheets drying out on the line and got them in just in time!!!

Since Thursday is the day for my book club I thought I'd better read the book, so spent some of the afternoon reading.

We didn't have pizza this past Friday like we usually do so we are having that for supper this evening.

That' it for today.
Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Your smile brightens the lives of all who see it.
To someone who has seen a dozen people frown,
scowl or turn their faces away,
your smile is like the sun breaking through the clouds.

...they seemed to have missed some along the edge of the field.

I wonder what the spray painted lines beside the road are for!
I also wonder about those 4 cars with people in them, motors running, then later the humans are gone but the cars remain. Definitely another mystery :0

I will never tire of your photos like the first one today. I love the peaceful, open aspect of the place where you live.

Mowing of the corn certainly opened up those beautiful views. We will all have to adjust some to those colder morning temps; maybe add another layer or two.

I mowed down a fair share of mushrooms today that had popped up all over our property. Hopefully the last mow of the season. That's weird about the cars in the library parking lot.

Good for you for getting your walk in even when it is cold going in the morning. I walked in 35˚ weather this morning, too. Love your walks/posts. xo Diana

The corn and hay around here have mostly all been cut. We had really bad rain storms this past weekend and I suspect they wanted to get everything cut before the rain came.

Such a glorious autumn photo, my friend! I always enjoy joining you on your morning walks. Now, if I could only benefit from them this way, too! : )

All those cars with the engines running is a real mystery! Your trees are looking really pretty!

A lot of times when I get to work in the morning there are strange cars sitting there with people in them. Apparently our back parking lot is a good place for people to meet up when they are driving somewhere together. Never had anyone park by the front door though.

Pizza with mushrooms and corn. Also ham ... but no pineapple.

God bless.

Often times those early morning gatherings in public buildings are Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous. They generally hold meetings in libraries, churches, etc before they're open
