Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

2 Part Walk

It was raining when I got up this morning.
It was SUPPOSED to stop by 7:30 so decided to leave a little later than usual.
I was at town and walking by 8:00 when I thought the rain had stopped.
Once to town though it started drizzling again.
My plan was to walk till 9:30, go to the library for Stitch N time, and then finish walking afterward.

I parked in the library parking lot and started walking but was soon wet.
I was back in the car at 8:50 and waited till 9:00 when the library opened.
Went in the library to dry off and started knitting.

A couple woman showed up at 9:30 and we had a nice time visiting and knitting.
While at the library I checked out a few DVD's and the next book club selection.
About 10:40 I left again and finished my walk.
It was still misting so I got wet again.
It was around 48 degrees and very windy.

Walked around town, the ball park loop and one of the cemeteries.
Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Didn't keep track of my steps but they were probably around 13,000.

It sure was nice to get home, change into dry clothes and be in a nice warm house.

Didn't do much the rest of the day.
A nice puttering around the house kind of day.

That's about it for today.
Happy Saturday

Lighthouse #2
This one didn't say anything on the bottom of it so have no idea
of the name or where it is located.
I bought this one because it is red. ๐Ÿ™‚

Mari - Supper was delicious. Thanks for the recipe.  We will certainly be making it again!!

GrannyM - No, haven't visited the lighthouses in my collection.  Just came across them through the years in different shops.

Ann - No, don't walk with a flashlight, but I walk in town where the street lights are till it gets light enough to see.

Fall is such a beautiful time to be out walking. The colors there are fabulous. I was wondering if the young man you previously wrote about would show up for knitting today. Maybe next week. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The weather today was definitely hard to judge. Carroll had a lot of tulip and blue bell bulbs that he wanted to plant. It rained here all morning long without any breaks. He decided he would wait until after lunch to give it a try. He wasn't out long because it was quite windy and with the temperature only being at 49, he decided it was too cold. Then around 3:00 the sun came out and the temperature increased by a few degrees and went out and planted all of the bulbs.

It is so nice that you can meet in the library and knit and have fellowship over the books you've been reading!

I love it that you bought today's lighthouse because it was red. Sounds like something that I would do. :)

Those trees and the leaf covered ground in your first photo are STUNNING!!! And the lighthouse is so unusual. You can see that they made all the bricks so realistic looking.

I have some little lighthouses - in my bathroom. Your Autumn photos are gorgeous.

We had some drizzle today, and a period of around fifteen minutes with a more substantial rain.

It sounds like you had a damp sort of day. Must be nice to sit and chat while knitting. Very cozy.

Getting wet would be bad enough but if it's cold and windy that just makes it feel so much colder.

We are still missing most of the rain, we had a little bit yesterday.
I love the trees and colors in your first photo, gorgeous.
Happy Sunday, have a great day!

Our weather was similar yesterday. I'm hoping today is better because we're going to try to get some pics with the family after church. We'll see.
I like the red lighthouse.
Glad supper turned out!

That's a great and inspirational quote at the top of your blog. I know you must see so many beautiful trees now that the fall colors are out. Driving by in a car is just not the same.

Glad you could dry off a bit before your second part of the walk. The red on that lighthouse stands out nicely!
