Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Well done lemon bars

59 degrees and cloudy leaving the house and driving to town.
Started walking at 6:22 and sunrise was at 6:30.

Walked all around town, the cemeteries and the ball park and didn't see anyone!

It is now taller than me.

Yesterday the builders got all the roof trusses up.
The house back and front.

House number 2 so far.

I hadn't seen KitKat for a while and was hoping nothing happened to him.
Not to worry I saw him out today.
I'd love to take him home with me. 🙂

I saw a deer at the edge of the corn field in the cemetery again eating some corn.

There was a skunk that got run over in the middle of the road in town and you could smell it all over town.

Morning Walk Steps were 13,511

☁️         🚶‍♀️         🙂         🐈

I was surprised that so many of you never heard of the Honey Bunch books.
Looked on line for the prices and they range from $8 a book to $99 depending on condition and if it has the dust cover.
When I bought them I paid just a few dollars.
Would't want to sell them though!!

Put a few pounds of chicken breasts in the slow cooker with some zesty Italian dressing and when done shredded the chicken.
(thanks again Mari for telling about shredding chicken with an electric beater.)

Also made some Lemon Bars but forgot to put the timer on.
When I started to smell them they were pretty well done.
Did manage to save a few bars out of the middle.

I've started knitting a shawl with striped yarn.
You start with just 2 stitches on the needle and add a stitch at the beginning of every other row until there are 185 stitches and then bind off.
I have 106 stitches so far.

The stripes are SO SHARP AND STRAIGHT! So glad that KitKat is well. He sure is beautiful! The buttons remind me of cherries.

I love to cook chicken in the crock pot and shred it for recipes. Nothing wrong with some well done lemon bars :)

Your photos today look like you could have been here. Corn and Queen Ann's lace are all over, and I love seeing them both.
So glad Kitcat showed up!
Such a bummer about the bars. I've done that too.
Glad the beater idea is working for you. I did the same thing yesterday!

I made that same chicken recipe last Sunday, or something very similar. So delicious. We had the leftovers tonight, over white rice. So good. Glad you could save at least a few of the lemon bars. We have all done that. Glad to see that KitKat is around. See you again soon!

Glad Kitkat is okay. That house seems so long. Oops, sorry about the forgotten lemon bars. Glad you could salvage some.

WoW, is that the same corn that you shared a picture of just a short while ago, it's GROWN. The colors of your yarn is going to make a pretty shawl, looking forward to seeing pictures of the finished product. Hope you're enjoying a great week.

I've done that with things in the oven. At least you were able to save a few.
I've seen things knitted and crocheted like that. I tried to start a project like that and I just got myself too confused.

Your scarf looks like it will be colorful and beautiful. Our weather is HOT and humid. It's already 71 at 6:00 am. It will go up to 87 degrees today. Glad you saw KitKat. Your photos are lovely and especially like the close up of the Queen Anne's lace.

Lemon bars...yum! I hope you salvaged enough to enjoy :)

And I would most definitely take kitkat home with me! I had a cat named KitKat for many years when I was young.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Kit Kat is a cute little kitty. Glad he showed up again.
What a shame about your lemon bars. Nice that you were able to salvage a few after the effort you put into making them.
