Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cookies

Though it was pretty warm at 44 degrees
the rain and wind is back so another rainy walk for me.
Sunrise 7:21
Walked 5.5 miles

Saw a deer on my way to town.
Haven't seen any for a while.
They must be in hiding.

Walked to the library first and dropped a book and a couple
of DVD's down the slot.
(carried them in a plastic bag so things stayed dry)

Continued through town and over to the industrial park
and walked around in there.

Paul (town worker who retired and Bill took his place) was driving
by and stopped to say hi.

Next went over to the ball park and walked that loop a few times.
The brook there was muddy from all the rain we've been getting.

At 8:15 I was by the town hall and stopped in to see how the cookie
sale set up was going.
A couple people were already there buying cookies!!!

A dozen cookies cost $7 and you could mix them up anyway you want.
My little pumpkin breads were being sold for $3.
The 11 dozen cookies and 6 pumpkin breads that I made will
make them $95.
Not too bad!!

Took a few pictures of the goodies.

Though this is a convenient place for the sale I prefer it right at the
Drane house itself like they used to do.
People got to go inside the house and look around,
there was a nice big fire in the fireplace with gingerbread baking in
a cast iron pot.
Hot chocolate was offered and the whole atmosphere was Christmasy.

Passing by the firehouse I saw people setting up tables
for the breakfast with Santa.

🌧    πŸ₯Ύ    πŸͺ    😊

I went back to the library later in the morning to pick up a
couple more books.
I can't seem to stay away from that place.

David and Liz came by this afternoon and we got to eat
birthday cake.
They stayed a couple of hours.

When they left I started one of those books I got from the library.

A pizza that we had made the other day and froze was supper.

Will probably skip my ice cream because I ate cake or maybe
have a small portion of ice cream.

Thanks for visiting.

Vee - No, didn't buy any cookies.  I eat enough of my own without buying more.😊

The cookies and such for the bake sale have been very nicely displayed but like you I would have preferred the sale to take place in Drane house to be able to see the interior and maybe see it decorated for Christmas.

It is very windy and cold here, snow is predicted again.
The sale looks nice and your donation really helped! Does it benefit the Doane house?
