Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Basement

Another icy morning so once again it was walking in
the basement for me.

Didn't take a picture of Ken's train layout but this is his work
space in the corner of the basement.

Started working on the puzzle and kept going till we finished it
so we had a pretty lazy day.
It was a fun puzzle to do.

Started snowing again this afternoon.
Picture in back and front of house.

We were going to go to the library but decided to stay home
in the nice warm cozy house.

I read a little in the afternoon and made a few squares.
Have the first 3 rows done on the baby blanket already.
7 more to go.
Decided to go with the red, green, and white colors for Christmas.

Friday so we made pizza for supper.
It's still snowing as I type this so I'm pretty sure
I'll be walking in the basement again tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in for a visit.
Happy Friday

Hi Karen. That is such a cool puzzle. I love the idea of doing the December blanket in Christmas colors. It's fun to see Ken's work area in the basement. It's still cold here but no more snow. I think some more snow may be coming next week. I am working out in the basement a lot too. A warm and cozy day at home can be so nice. Have a good one. See you again soon!

...it was a icy day here too.

I never liked to walk on icy ground. We did get some rain this afternoon but it didn't last long so it was a pretty good day.

It looks cold. We haven’t had ice yet and just a tiny bit of snow. But I know it’s coming soon.

The two of you are jigsaw puzzle whizzes. If that's a word.
It's not the supper hour here yet but when it gets here we'll also have pizza.

Very productive with the puzzle.

I had pizza too- but the place I pick up from makes such large slices that even two is too much for me. The leftovers got into a Tupperware container until breakfast.

You have quite a bit of land. The puzzle is a library! I bet it was not easy doing all those books. Your husband's workspace looks well organized.

I love the snow, but am just not quite ready for it here yet. We did have a few flurries here this morning and the day was very cold and windy. I am sure Ken spends lots of happy hours at his work bench. I love books so this puzzle is one of my favorites.

I love the puzzle! I always think I want to glue them, but end up just putting them back in the box. That one looks like one I might want to glue and hang on the wall :)

I can't believe the amount of snow you have already! It's beautiful!

We had pizza tonight too :) That used to be a tradition in my family when I was in high school.

Have a cozy weekend!

So, your pizzas, what do you have for toppings? Different, or the same?

Keep the snow. lol
Haven't had any sunshine here for 6 days and counting. Need warmer temps too...high 30°'s wind-chill predicted today (Saturday).

I don't blame you for taking your "basement" walk! Your photos look mighty cold! The finished puzzle is beautiful. I don't know that I'd have the patience to work on one like that. I had a friend who spread a thin layer of Elmer's glue on the front of a puzzle he had done and then ended up framing it for his wall. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Love that puzzle. Sounds like a great day. If I wouldn't have had to go to work I would have stayed in all day as well.

Love the puzzle and the snowy scenes. We had a snow shower, but it did not stick around on the ground. Pizza for dinner is always yummy!
Take care, enjoy your weekend.

We've been keeping up with the snow on the weather channel! It sure has been a LOT so early. Stay warm and safe and enjoy your weekend!

Nice place to have a work space. I've not done a jigsaw puzzle in years, must have a go again. Love seeing that snow

It's snowing here too, we are under a winter storm warning since Thursday.
I like the puzzle. Sounds like a good day!

We don't have a basement, but we had our downsized home built with French doors between the two bedrooms so I could open them, when we don't have overnight company, and walk around and around through bedrooms and a short hall on the east by a bathroom into the large common room that includes sofas, TV, window seats, dining table, kitchen island, cabinets, sink, stove, then into the west short hall by second bathroom on one side and laundry nook on west side, then back into west bedroom.Stay safe!

We put together that same puzzle in 2020 or so. It was a fun one. We've been walking inside and will be for the duration of winter (winter has come early) We are only doing a 30 minute cardio so far. Snow in town has melted but our snow in our front and back has not melted since we've been below freezing for several days now. We were out of the teens this morning so we might be starting a warming trend. Hope you have a good day.
