Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Mary Higgins Clark

A cloudy walk this morning.
55 degrees
Sunrise 6:54
Walked 5.3 miles
Haven't found any coins for a while but that changed today
when I found a nickel and a penny in the Dollar General parking lot. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Walked around town and out the other side,
up the main road to the curve where I turned around at the farm road.
Most all the trees are still green but every so often
you can spot a tree with the leaves turning.

Came across a chicken.
This was as close as I could get.

A farm along the main road.

Walked around the industrial park.
Then back to town and around the ball park loop.
After that it was back to the Jeep.

Didn't see anyone else out walking,
but did say good morning to a few people who were out in town.

Another fine morning to be out walking.

Ken went alone to the Dollar General this morning
while I did a load of wash and got my morning chores done.

We went out later to Grantsville to do a few errands
and had lunch while we were out.

Finished reading another Mary Higgins Clark book,
I've Got My Eyes On You.
I like reading her books because they are good but also
because they are set in northern NJ where I grew up.
She mentions lots of the towns and places I know so well.
In this last book she mentioned my hometown of Waldwick a few times.

Thanks for visiting.
A happy Saturday to you.๐Ÿ™‚

First of all the pizza was yummy!!!

GrannyM - Making the pizza outside is a bit of an ordeal because Ken not only has to keep the fire going outside but he is the one who actually makes the pizza inside.  It is not hard to get the temperature up for the pizza.  It was the first time too so it should get easier as he perfects the procedure.

Vee - Yes, Ken's side of the pizza is the one with pepperoni.  My side had no pepperoni but does include fresh roasted garlic pieces.

That's quite a blush on that tree. We have a few similar trees, even the same color.

Divide and Conquer is a good method for getting a lot accomplished. Glad that you
and Ken went out for lunch. It's good to get out and about every now and then.

Maybe the chicken lives on that farm.

The area you live in looks so beautiful and peaceful. I haven't noticed if the leaves are turning here yet but I've been seeing lots of goldenrod.

Sounds like it was a good morning. I love to photograph chickens but seldom get the chance.

It's fun to read books set in places we are familiar with. I have read some of Mary HIggins Clark books some years back. I should read some more because they are very good. See you again tomorrow!

I think I'd like to read a mystery novel that mentioned towns around where I grew up. I thought authors didn't do that unless it was a true story. I was wrong. I don't think of read any of MHC's books but my DH has.

I like it when the leaves start to turn, the Autumn colours can be so lovely.
