Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

55 degrees this morning and once again sunny when walking.
Drove to town but parked in the library parking lot this time.
The pond parking lot still had all the repaving equipment
there and it's where all the workers meet.

Most of the paving is done.
This is where they got to yesterday.

Nice walking on the new road.

Walked around the lower cemetery and
then to the industrial park and walked around there.
Through town and back down the road toward home for about
a mile, turned around, then back to town

Saw a new person out running but she was listening to
something with earbuds so don't even think she knew I
said good morning and just kept on running.
Can't help but think of all she isn't seeing and hearing
on such a beautiful morning.

The usual deer, rabbits, and birds out enjoying the morning too.

It was a lovely walk and for that I am truly thankful.

Walked 6 miles

☀️    ❤️    🌸

Good day for laundry so got a load washed and out on the line.

We went to the library to pick up a couple more books
for each of us.

Ken dug up a couple of asparagus plants and David and Liz
came by to pick them up.
They are going to plant them by the cabin.

Another nice sunny day in the 70's.
Spent some time walking around outside and then
it was time to sit out on the porch again.

That's all I have for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🤗

Ann - The view that you liked in yesterdays collage was where the 21 house lots were. So glad Farmer Marvin bought the land.

Kim - I've been using the Norwex clothes for a while and love them.  The dusting mitt is great too!

Rose - It is nice to walk to town once in a while but I prefer driving to town and walking.  I meet more people and I guess I'm just nosey and like to see all that is going on in town.

So much of communing with nature happens with our ears! Birdsong, rustling leaves, not to mention danger like a car too close! I would never wear earbuds while walking.

The mornings have been so beautiful here this week that I am imagining that's the kind of weather you have for walking. I have been puttering in the garden and I do mean puttering. Sometimes, I like to sit with the tv off and listen to the sounds of the house, the birds outside, and the town beyond.

I agree that there's so much to notice when walking that you would miss if you're listening to music. We even see couples walking together and one of them will have ear phones on. I would find that rude.
You sure are a fast reader. I'm always impressed by the number of books coming and being returned around your house.

Walking under sunny skies must make it all the more enjoyable. I have never been able to figure out why folks would choose to listen to something from their earbuds, instead of hearing and being aware of nature all around you.

What a difference a few hundred miles make...lol. It was 80 when I walked this morning and 84% humidity! But there was a little breeze and that saved me. Love seeing your photos and hearing about your walks. I wouldn't be able to keep up with you!

Such a beautiful day for a walk.

God bless always.

Sounds like another beautiful morning. I can understand listening to music while you run/walk but you would think a person would want to pay attention to their surroundings as well.
Nice that someone bought the land and left you with a better view than a bunch of houses.

Hello,
It is nice to take an early morning walk, listening to all the birds singing.
The first image of the flowers is pretty. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy 4th of July weekend.

The cabin sure has gotten a lot of use. I imagine when you built it - it was just for weekend stays. They must live very simply to actually live in the cabin full time.

A nice walk, and I didn't even have to get up off the couch! 😂

Good to know about the dusting mitt. I may have to try that next.
I am always amazed by how many people walk/run with ear buds in. For me the sounds of nature are a major factor in being outdoors.

Oh I absolutely agree. There is no music that come close to the sounds of nature and so much to see. Gets on my nerves to see folks everywhere with earbuds in. Even buying groceries and talking on the phone...who could concentrate?

Oh yes, there's way too much to miss to be plugged up when out walking. If I should meet you out walking, I would stop for a little chat. :~)

Hello Karen, I feel the same way about what the lady is missing by having earbuds in her ears. Somehow I don't see that as living in the moment and enjoying the beauty around us.

Your walk sounds lovely.
